Long Island reached the 7 million fan mark faster than any other team in league history despite having begun play in the ALPB’s third year of existence (2000). In addition, the team has hosted a league-record 663 sold out crowds all-time. The Ducks led the league in average attendance during the 2016 season at 5,265 and have now led the league 14 times in 17 seasons. The Bees hold a 14-10 lead in the all-time series and have a 9-2 edge at New Britain Stadium. New Britain has won three of the four meetings thus far, including two of three at the Duck Pond. Sing Us A Song(co): Long Island Ducks outfielder Angelo Songco has been tasked with greater playing time recently and has responded in a big way. In his last 10 games, Songco is hitting a ro- bust .333 with four home runs and 12 RBIs. He is tied for second in the Atlantic League in home runs on the season (5), and is sixth in RBIs. Duck Power: Alex Burg hit the game-winning solo home run for the Ducks in the sixth inning on Wednesday night. It was the catcher’s third longball of the season and first since April 27 at Somerset, ending a nine-game homerless drought. That total is tied with Sugar Land for second-most in the Atlan- tic League, trailing only Lancaster (22). The ‘Pen is Mightier: The Ducks’ bullpen has been spectacular as of late, pitch- ing to a 1.90 ERA (5 ER/23.2 IP) in their last seven games. NOTABLE NUGGETS

LAST TIME OUT: Matt Larkins took the mound for the Ducks on Sunday against the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs and was touched up for eight runs on 10 hits in only three innings. However, nine of the 10 hits Larkins allowed were singles, many of which were lucky bloops, so his final line is not a great indicator of how he pitched. Nonetheless, the righty was tagged with his first loss of the season in an 8-2 Blue Crabs victory at Bethpage Ballpark. MOSCOW MULE: In his career, Larkins has established himself as a durable pitcher who can reliably eat innings. In 2015 with Amarillo, Larkins tied for the American Association lead with 152.0 innings pitched, and has thrown at least 124.1 innings in three consecutive seasons. The right-hander has six career com-plete games, including three in 2014. SHORT-TIME DUCK: After coming to Long Island via a trade in September 2016, Larkins made two starts with the Ducks during the regular season, and another two during the postseason. He combined for a 1-0 mark and a 3.21 ERA during the regular season. The righty lasted two innings and gave up five runs against Somerset in Game Two of the Liberty Division Championship Series. He then pitched five and two-thirds innings of one-run ball, surrendering just two hits in Game Two of the Atlantic League Championship Series against Sugar Land. ON THE MOVE: Larkins has been traded an impressive five times in his six-year career, including three times by teams he never played for. The San Angelo Colts, Wichita Wingnuts and Southern Maryland Blue Crabs have all traded the 28-year-old during the same offseason in which they acquired him. The Long Island Ducks originally traded for Larkins in September of 2016, acquiring him from the Lincoln Saltdogs.

PITCHER TIDBITS Began his professional career in 2012 with Abilene of the North American

League.

Played collegiately at the University of California, Riverside, playing four

years for the Highlanders.

Spent the first three years of his career as both a starter and a reliever, be-

fore converting to a full-time starting pitcher in 2014 while with Amarillo.

While in high school at Temescal Canyon in Lake Elsinore, California,

Larkins volunteered as a tee ball coach.
