IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
"APPROVED MUSIC"
BEGINNING with the June issue, a part of each future Bulletin will bereserved for a list of music to be published under the heading of "ApprovedMusic ." These lists will be· selected from the entire catalog by a com-
EXPERT mlttee of musical experts, chosen for their eminent qualifi-SELECTION cations and high standing. This committee. with the enor -
mous Pianola Catalog at its disposal. will subject each compo-sition to a musical test. giving consideration to its beauty and effectiveness asa Pianola selectIOn. All compositions meeting the necessary req 'lrements willbe approved and announced under the above heading.
The Pianola Catalog of to-day contains the most complete and variedcollection of selected musical compositions ever. published ;' Its r,!-pid growthand the broad scope of the music it represents have rendered discriminatingselection somewhat difficult. and intimate knowledge of its contents quiteimpossible, even to the most ardent follower of "m usic. student or expert.
. It is the purpose of "Approved Music" to serve as a guide toTHE th d' . . . l ' f' 11 d te Iscriminating se ectton 0 mUSIc genera Y. an 0 encourage
PURPOSE .familiarity 'w ith notable works of some of the lesser-known com-posers and obscure works of great composers. by directing especial attention tocertain compositions. the excellence of which would ordinarily escape notice. As approval of the works of great masters and celebrated composers wouldbe superfluous. ~'Approved Music" lists will be devoted largely to ' works ofpronounced merit by comparatively unknown composers.
The addition of this valuable new feature to the Bulletin is consistentwith the Aeolian Company's established policy of providing every possible
advantage and convenience for its patrons. regardless ofAEOLIAN
expense or the magnitude of the undertaking• .This CompanyADVANTAGES
is perhaps the only concern in the world of musicqualified to authoritatively and successfully achieve a work of such singularimportance.
As all compositions published under U Appro"bed Music" carrythe endorsement of eminent musical authority, they areparlicula.rly recommended to the siteniion of our patrons.
