Rule Changes for 2017

“Rules 18-2, 18-3 and 20-1 are modified as fol-

lows:

When a player’s ball lies on the putting green,

there is no penalty if the ball or ball-marker is ac-

cidentally moved by the player, his partner, his

opponent, or any of their caddies or equipment.

The moved ball or ball-marker must be replaced

as provided in Rules 18-2, 18-3 and 20-1.

This Local Rule applies only when the player’s ball or ball-marker lies on the putting green and any movement is accidental. Note: If it is determined that a player’s ball on the putting green was moved as a result of wind, wa-ter or some other natural cause such as the ef-fects of gravity, the ball must be played as it lies from its new location. A ball-marker moved in such circum-stances is re-placed.”

Tip of the Month

Knowledge is power and knowing what makes the golf ball curve is something

that most golfers have backwards. The PGA taught us that the clubface makes

the ball curve and the path of your swing determines the stating

point….WRONG!

Over the last 5 years Trackman has proven that what was taught and

unfortunately still taught by many instructors is 100% backwards!

The ball starts on line, right or left due to where the clubface is pointed and

curves based on the path of the swing. To fix your golf ball, it is easiest to

address the face first then work on the path. Your check points to practice

squaring the clubface should start with having a fundamentally correct grip

then looking at the arm and wrist positions throughout the swing.

If you have questions or would like to get some help on your

game, call us at 255.7706.

If you want to host a golf tournament in 2017 please

contact the golf shop today. We are already scheduling

events through October and the sooner you book your

event the more flexibility we will have with the calendar.

For more information or to schedule an event please call

the golf shop at 255-7706.
