A TIME
TO
SOW. TIME
TO
REAP
I n a recent
issue
o f
a ewsletter published by
the Christian
Information Com
mittee
i n
Fremont, C a l i f o r n i a ,
there appeared
an
a r t i c l e t h a t put i n t o
words what
we ave f e l t regarding portions o f the work
here.
The ollowing, then, is an ad^-
tation
of
that
article,
Even an
elementary
knowledge o f farming shows j i a t harvest never h^)pens
without lots
o f
sowing. Nothing
but
w e e d s come
up i n a
i e l d
w h e r e
n o seed is
planted.
The onverse
o f
this
is also true: i f
something
is planted i n the spring,
you can expec t harvest i n the a l l Charring neglect or calamity).
The Good
News
is
o f t e n
referred to
by
Jesus
as
seed which
m u s t
b e
planted,
m u s t u n d e r g o c h a n g e t o b e g i n g r o w t h ,
mu^
e
c a r e d f o r , a n d must e v e n t u a l l y
be
harvested
A reat portion
o f
the
work being
done here in
the
Bajio of Mexi co is sowing
work.
We
are trying
to present
the
claims
o f Christ
i n
thousands o f homes, i n
hundreds
o f c i t i e s ,
in
several states
in
Central
Mexico, Even hough
we
ave had
the
blessing o f being able
to
see some arvest come eady in the form f b^tisms
and new
c o n g r e g a t i o n s ,
much
or perhaps most)
f
t h e growth and h a r v e s t w i l l t a k e
place
some ime i n
the
future, i f the Lord
delays
His
return.
I t is
our prayerful
goal to prepare hearts for
later
c u l t i v a t i o n and harvest.
We
re sowing where we
cannot personally a t t e n d to harvest;
we are
sowing
i n
unbroken land,
where
the
seed has never
b e f o r e
been s c a t t e r e d , where
the
weeds
o f
d i s t r u s t , ignorance, and
t r a d i t i o n are
t h i c k .
We ave learned t h a t sowing
methods
must
vary
from f i e l d *
t o i e l d , For example,
i n t h e s t a t e o f
Guanajuato, l i t e r a t u r e d i s t r i b u t i o n and
evangelistic c a i i i p a i g n s
have
been
effective; in
Queretaro
state,
they have
showr.
very s l i g h t r e s u l t .
Radio has
provided good results i n every
place
i t has been
used
b u t even
i t
has
l i m i t a t i o n s . New sowing
methods are
c o n s t a n t l y
b e i n g
c o n s i d e r e d
a n d t r i e d .
We e s i t a t e

FAMILY
AFFAIRS
What
a

feast
we
had
sharing with Bro. Carl Ketcherside
at
the
annual Mexico Miss ionary Reunion in March.
We
were grateful once
again for
the trailer which allowed
us

was a
ever-to-be-forgotten
experiencerefreshing
both to

The trailer

We had such a reat

the Lord
that we

Heather is in her
glory.
She
has
a

Now

Life is not without

The
