2013 is an exciting year for Dunlop Golf as we continue to develop our product offering. This year we have developed our range further to include some of the leading technologies and components available.

In the golf ball category we are launching a 3 piece, Urethane ball which delivers a great combination of distance, feel and spin. This ball is targetted at the better golfer and is available in dozens.

In the golf club category we continue to work with True Temper on golf shafts and we will be utilising both True Temper and Grafalloy brands through our premium ranges. We have also developed our own shaft technology for 2013 which uses Aeroskin on the shaft to create less drag and so increase club head speed, resulting in more distance. We are launching a new NZ9 iron for 2013 which uses a 8620 soft steel head to give the softest feeling golf club available in the dunlop range. The iron is made using quality components such as True Temper Dynamic Gold golf shafts and Lamkin grips to give a high performance product. Lee who was born and bred in Worksop, Nottinghamshire, took up the game at the age of 13 and less than two years later, he was crowned junior champion of home county Nottinghamshire.

Lee won his first amateur event in 1990 and turned pro in 1993. During his successful career, Lee has won 18 events on the European Tour and has also won tournaments in America, Africa, Asia and Australia.

A regular on the Ryder Cup team, Lee has played in the last six successive competitions. 2006 saw Lee further embellish his magnificent Ryder Cup record when, for the second successive time, he remained unbeaten in all five matches.

On 31st October 2010, Lee achieved the number 1 spot in World Rankings.

One of the world’s most well known golfers, Darren Clarke has won many fans with his passionate play and dedicated approach to the game.

In the 1999 Smurfit European Open he became the first player on The European Tour to shoot 60 for a second time, having achieved it first in the 1992 European Monte Carlo Open. In 2002 he became the first player to win the English Open three times and in 2003 became the first player outside Tiger Woods to capture more than one World Golf Championship title.

2011 began well for Darren with a victory in the Iberdrola Open in Mallorca but he enjoyed his finest hour in July when he claimed his maiden major championship. Darren won the 140th Open Championship at Royal St George’s in Kent by three shots from Phil Mickelson and Dustin Johnson. ai

After a steady climb to the top of his profession, David had a great year in 2005 and in November he out-played and out-scored playing partner Tiger Woods on the final day to win the HSBC Champions Tournament in Shanghai. He went on to capture the 2006 BMW Championship, the flagship event of the European Tour.

Further illustration of his big tournament temperament was shown by a fifth place at the WGC – Accenture Match Play and top 20 finishes in both the Masters Tournament and the US Open Championship, before playing a vital role in Europe’s third successive victory over the USA at The 2006 Ryder Cup.

David ended the 2006 season with a career high third place on the European Tour Order of Merit.

South African Thomas Aiken turned professional in 2002 and gained his European Tour card in 2008 via qualifying school.

The 2009 season saw Aiken register his maiden top ten finish on the European Tour, with tied 4th in the Alfred Dunhill Championship, having led going into the final day after a course record 61 in the third round.

A number of top 10 finishes on the European Tour in 2009 helped Aiken reach the Dubai World Championship despite holding only partial status on the tour. He finished the season ranked 46th on the Race to Dubai. In May 2011, Aiken won his first event on the European Tour at the Open de España, winning by two strokes from Anders Hansen.

The Aeroskin technology concept was developed in our tennis business and has been transferred into golf with great effect. The technology involves using a rough surface to create less drag during the swing and so generate faster club head speeds. This is applied in two different areas, the golf shaft and the head of drivers, woods and hybrids. By using this technology Dunlop Golf are developing more powerful products which will translate into increased distance for the consumer.

Nature and its organisms have evolved over millions of years to become highly optimised and efficient in their chosen environment.

The concept of Biomimetics is the study of nature and the natural world to inspire the design of engineering solutions and cutting edge technology. Application of Biomimetic design can be seen in a diverse range of different industries from wing design on aircraft, to design of high speed bullet trains and advanced structural engineering. Sporting examples include the super strong crash cells in Formula 1 cars inspired by honeycomb and hydrodynamic swimsuits inspired by shark skin.

Dunlop has taken this concept to inspire new golf technologies, creating the ultimate range of performance golf products.

Gecko-tac technology has been developed in our tennis business and transferred into golf. The technology is used in two different areas. On golf gloves it involves placing a high tec compound on the palm of the glove which creates a stronger bond between the glove and the grip. This ensure you always have a strong grip of the club and so have more control of your golf shot.

The second application of gecko-tac technology is within our range of golf grips. We have created a multi density compound which allows for a better grip of the golf club. When you combine a gecko-tac golf grip with a gecko-tac glove you can be assured of excellent control of the golf club in all situations.

Muscle bar weight system

This design places weight low down in the club head but then also supports this with a central weight placement. The additional weight in the ball strike area gives a more powerful shot.

Flow weight design

Weight placement changes on each iron in the set according to where its needed. On long irons weight is added in the toe area as miss hit shots tend to come from this part of the club. Mid irons have weight centered in the middle of the club and on short irons the weight is moved to the heel.

Cavity back design

Weight is placed on the outer edges of the club creating a perimeter weighting. By allocating mass in this way a larger sweet spot is created making the club more forgiving on miss hit shots.

Undercut cavity design

This design looks to create a deeper centre of gravity which will make the irons more forgiving and also help in getting the ball airborne.

Traditional Face

A traditional putter face can sometimes cause the ball to skid which effects the quality of the putt, especially in regards to distance.

Milled Face

Using a double milling process ensures a perfectly flat putting surface on your putter. This should help to create top spin and prevent the ball from skidding. This flat surface ensures you will get a smooth and true roll on all your putts.

Polymer face

The face insert design has two benefits; 1 - It removes weight from the centre of the face and so creates a perimeter weighted / MOI design. This ensures a square putter head at impact and lessons the effect of off centre strikes 2 - It gives great feedback to the hands on the quality of the putt.

Milled face

The milled face ensures a perfectly flat striking surface and will give higher spin rates as it grabs the ball when struck due to its rough finish.

Rip groove

This groove system is illegal and does not conform to R&A or USGA rules due to the amount of spin generated. The design has a sharp groove that bites into the ball and imparts a very high spin rate.

22 groove

Grooves create spin so naturally having more of them is going to create more spin. We have used our new 22 groove design on all of our performance wedges this season to ensure that our products perform to a very high standard.

Low centre of gravity design

This design places weight low down in the club head to create a high launch angle. This design helps aspiring golfers to get the ball airborne as easily as possible.

Oversized cavity design

The oversized design places more weight low down in the club head and also further back. This has the effect of lowering the centre of gravity which creates a more forgiving design and helps to get the ball into the air.

Heel and toe weight system

This design takes weight out of the centre of the head and places in the heel and toe areas to increase perimeter weighting. This weighting improves stability at impact and lessens the effect of off centre hits.

BEST

The best golf products available from the Dunlop brand. The products will features leading components such as True Temper or Grafalloy shafts and grips from suppliers such as Lamkin. These component suppliers are used on a weekly basis by players on the PGA tours.

The Tour Elite product offers the latest technologies and high quality components in one of the best package sets available.

The woods and hybrid all come in a white anti glare finish and also use Aeroskin technology on the crown to reduce drag and so increase club head speed. The Rebel set is Illegal and cant be used for competition golf due to the distance and spin it delivers.

The driver features an illegally sized 515cc head which is built to deliver incredible distance on all shots. This size exceeds the 460cc size limit allowed by the ruling bodies of golf (R&A, USGA).

The wood and hybrid are both made from an alloy material and come in a 15° loft option for the wood and 21° option for the hybrid.

The irons have an illegal groove design on the 7-SW which gives incredible spin on approach shots. The 5 & 6 iron have a traditional groove design. All irons are made from a quality 431 stainless steel and feature an undercut cavity for playability and shaped sole design which reduces drag.

The new Tour Elite ball is the perfect combination golf ball as it delivers both feel and distance. Made using a 2 piece construction it uses a tournament grade Ionomer cover which gives the ultimate combination of feel and spin.

The 65i golf ball uses Tungsten in the core of the ball to deliver incredible distance. The ball has a 368 dimple pattern to give a high ball flight, helping the aspiring golfer to get the ball airborne. It also has a surlyn cover which makes it very durable as well as long off the tee.

The new Rebel ball delivers illegal distance due to a heavy weight core which does not comply to USGA or R&A rules. The heavy weight core delivers a high initial velocity which translates into incredible distance on all shots.

The Loco ball has a low compression core which gives a softer feel on all shots. It uses a 368 dimple pattern which gives a high ball flight, helping golfers with slower swing speeds to get the ball airborne.
