How nicely our lodge is growing. Everyone is helping tremendously by bringing in your friends and introducing them to the best lodge in the district. Membership is growing with your help and we greatly appreciate everyone’s dedication. Both in the volunteers helping at our functions and in recruiting new members. Without our great members, we wouldn’t have the best lodge in the district.
We have a fun year ahead of us and I hope everyone will continue to support your lodge. Please check your calendar for all the activities we have going on.
4th of July is going to be a HOOT! Great food and games. We are having a dunking booth which I will be in so come by and get me WET. We’re having some friendly competition between the WOTM and LOOM to see who raises the most from it. So, I’m looking forward to bragging rights. Help me out!
If you have never attended a district Meeting, you should try to attend at least one during the year. They are fun. Don’t forget our District Getaway on Aug. 27 & 28 in Daytona. Fun - Fun - Fun !!
Thank you for all you do.
Fraternally, John Condray

Senior Regent’s Message Dear Co-Workers and Brothers,
What a time we had in the month of May. We raced out of the gate like thoroughbreds going for the win. We helped Melanie with a luncheon for the teachers at Saddlewood Elementary School and then helped Alma with an ice cream sundae party for the teachers Dunnellon Elementary School during Teachers’ Appreciation Week.
Speaking of races, Kentucky Derby Day at the Lodge hosted by Melanie Newhouse was a great success. We not only watched the Derby, but our members participated in a derby of our own; human horse races; great fun. The entries for the cake auction all looked scrumptious and caused a bidding war. There was also a parade of crazy derby hats. The participants in this event were very creative. Mother’s Day was celebrated with a breakfast served by the Moose Legionnaires.
Jessica Morgan, who is the recipient of the yearly scholarship presented to an outstanding high school student, came to the WOTM meeting to say thank you and tell us about her future plans.
What a great way to finish the last part of Spring before charging into Summer.
It was decided to change the name of “Show Me The Moose” to “Show Me The Money” a name which is familiar to those from the other Lodges who may not realize that they are the same game. We hope that the name change will be an incentive for more players to come join in the fun. It was also decided that for the next few months Bunco would be done every other month.
Thank you to all of the co-workers who have helped and participated in making the events successes.
We are still looking for co-workers who would like to help in serving dinners and helping in the kitchen. Please contact me at 352-671-3687.
We also need to have two offices filled on our board. We need a secretary and a Junior Regent. Pleas sign up on the sheet on the Women’s wall or contact me if you would be interested in helping us out.
Events:
Show Me the Money, July 10 and August 14 at 2PM. July 16th – Bunco at 2 pm
WOTM Dinners
July 1 – Lasagna Dinner by Michelle July 15 – Rib Dinner by Charlotte August 5 – Pork Loin Dinner by Carlos August 19 – Club Sandwiches and Macaroni Salad by Shonie
Stephanie Steoberl, Sr. Regent

As your Moose Legion Chairman for the upcoming year, I would like to extend an invitation to all of our male members to join with your brothers who are already Moose Legionnaires. The Moose Legion is the “Degree of Service”. It is made up of men who believe in our mission and is willing to offer a helping hand so that we may accomplish our goals. When you join the Moose Legion, you will not be expected to be here for every function and every meeting. We do ask that you give a hand when it is needed . We do need you! Join in time to be conferred as a Moose Legionnaire at our Celebration Sept. 3 & 4. Our meetings are on the second Tuesday of the month at 6:00 P.M. These meetings are fun and informal. All attendees will re-ceive a free drink of your choice for participating. We served 23 free Breakfasts for our Moose Fathers on Father’s Day and a total of 44 all together. Thanks to all who helped prepare and serve. Also, a big thanks to all who came to enjoy the food. Come out and enjoy all the Moose Legion has to offer!
Fraternally, Roy Marler Moose Legion Chairman
