When people enjoy the benefit from automobiles, they are also threating our health and living space. Automobiles have two main problems today: compet-ing urban space with people and produced too much carbon dioxide. Today we have 800 million cars and there will be 4 billion by 2050. All these growth will lead one problem is traffic jam. The traffic jam will stifle economic growth, deliver food and health care. Also one of the biggest car consume in urban is looking for car park.

To solve those two problems, I developed a concept as a small size automobile with Air Engine. Air Engine using compressed air as it energy so it is 100% zero air pollution.

R² means rest and relaxation. R² is a high technology and user-friendly car. It can record user’s preference and driving style. User don’t need use key to en-ter, just touch the sensor and the doors will open automatically, then the windows will become clear and the interior will lights on. The swivelling seat will moves back and revolves to user. R² doesn’t have rear-view mirrors. User can see everything around the car through the three exterior cameras; therefore user does not need to take their eyes off the road. The engine will turns on when user tough the central screen. User also can set temperature by mobile phone. If the accident happens, R² will stop automatically. In addition, user can move dashboard and control from either the left or the right seat. In order to fit different road rules and also provide user different driving experiences.

Traction for acceleration is supreme. The rear engine layout s is ideal for micro cars, helping to reduce the length of the vehicle in front of the driver’s feet.

The Di Pietro Motor (Rotary Air Engine)

The Di Pietro motor concept is based on a rotary piston. Different from existing rotary engines, the Di Pietro motor uses a simple cylindrical rotary piston (shaft driver) which rolls, without any friction, inside the cylindrical stator. The space between stator and shaft driver is divided in 6 expansion chambers by pivoting dividers. (Joomla, 2010)
