duracord and durasheet bondbreaker and back-up material arepermanent preformed joint fillers, manufactured from low density, closedcell expanded polyethylene. They arehighly flexible and compressible, withexcellent recovery properties andtensile strength.

accommodate the depth of sealantspecified i.e. joints from 6 mm to 12mm wide, width and depth must beequal. From 12 mm wide to 24 mmwide the depth should be 12 mm, and

for joints over 24 mm wide the depthshould be half width.

    USES

In order to prevent movement of thedurasheet when installing inexpansion joints between suspendedslabs use partly projecting copper nailsor daubs of adhesive.

duracord & durasheet are semi-rigid joint fillers used for forming expansion joints or as a backing material for jointsin:

    •  Concrete When forming expansion joints withdurasheet  in in-situ concrete jointsealing slots can be formed by firstcutting through the durasheet  to therequired depth and pinning the stripback on to the remaining durasheet

with 50 mm panel pins installing the

    •  Blockwork

    •  Retaining walls

    •  Deck slabs

    •  Reservoirs

durasheet 100 is suitable for use in

water retaining structures andconforms to the requirements of abeConstruction Chemicals'

specifications for the sealing of waterretaining structures.

    1FEATURES AND BENEFITS

    •  Rot proof

    •  Fine closed cell structure

    •  Non-absorbent

    •  Resilient

    •  Low load transfer

    •  Bitumen free

    •  Non-tainting filler flush with the concrete surface.Prior to sealing remove the top strip toprovide a clean joint ready forpreparation of the joint sealantinstallation.

    INSTALLATION

duracord/durasheet should becompressed into the joint toapproximately 70% of its original size.Where hydrostatic pressures arepresent, compression should be toapproximately 40% of its original size.

Bond breakers are not required aselastomeric sealants will not bond tothe durasheet or duracord.

For most effective results,duracord/durasheet must be insertedinto the joint to a depth that will

Non-absorbent, closed-cellpolyethylene joint filler. Used asexpansion joint former for brickwork, walls and floors in in-situ cast concretenot subject to hydrostatic pressures.

    PACKAGING

duracord is supplied in continuousrolls in various diameters from 6 mm to50 mm.durasheet is supplied in square orrectangular sections of almost any

dimension up to 30 mm thick and in2 metre lengths. Where continuouslengths over 2 metres are required, thesupplied lengths are easily joinedusing a good neoprene contactadhesive.

    HANDLING & STORAGE

This product has a shelf life of12 months if kept in a dry cool place inthe original packaging. In moreextreme conditions this period mightbe shortened.

    HEALTH & SAFETY

There are no health hazardsassociated with duracord ordurasheet in normal use.
