During the 30 matches that took place, eventful and exciting rugby was played. Many thanks to all the staff who gave up of their time during the holiday. A first this year was the presence of Coffee Creative Studio recording and covering all the matches includ-ing interviews with players and coaches.
To all our parents who attended the parent consultation day on 9 April and 10 April, thank you for the interest shown in your child and the support.
LAPA Distributers visited our school on 9 and 10 April exhibiting their books and 23 April was National Book day.

BLOOD BANK
DNC staff and learners once again got an opportunity to donate blood this term.
The blood services visit DNC every term giving everyone to donate . Remember that
you are also welcome to donate blood next term! There’s few things so rewarding as
the knowledge that your blood helped safe a life!
COMMUNITY OUTREACH
We would like to thank the parents for donating Easter eggs for this outreach.
Our learners visited Golden Hours School as well as Tuinsig Retirement Village on Fri-
day 17 April. Learners made cards and together with this and some Easter eggs got
to spend some time with learners less fortunate than them. This kind gesture warmed
many hearts and will stay with them for some time.

RUGBY WEEK 2019
During the March holiday, DNC hosted yet another successful Rugby Festival.
This year we hosted 18 schools from across KZN and schools from Gauteng and had a
total of 30 teams participating in our festival with 16 teams staying at the school.
Twizza came on board as our first ever drinks-sponsor and supplied the coaches and
staff with plenty of refreshments during the week.
We brought Coffee Studio on board as well to handle our social media for the week
and found great success with this as some videos and photos of the week was viewed
over 500 times and over 100 shares of various photos and videos.
We would like to congratulate the various winners of the tournament, Birchleigh High
School first team for winning the A division and Linpark High School for winning the
B division. The /16 division was won by Ferrum High School.
The success of the Rugby Festival can truly be contributed to the extremely hard work
and dedication of the DNC staff and a big thank you needs to go to Mr Quintin
Lategan and his ground staff for preparing our fields for the festival. We would like to
thank Twizza for the amazing sponsorship and look forward to working with them
again in the near future as well as Biztec for the 1st team sponsorship.
We are looking at making the Durban North College Rugby Festival even bigger and
more exciting in 2020 with many new ideas in the making!
