Pharmaceutical PreparationPharmaceutical Preparation
Why we still use pharmaceutical Why we still use pharmaceutical
preparations? preparations?
1. Some drugs must be freshly prepared.2. Some people prefer the drug to be done
in a place they trust . 3. We can tailor the preparation according
to our needs.4. Lack of some commercial dosage forms.5. Needs of certain drug combination which
is not available.
Pharmaceutical compoundingPharmaceutical compounding
DefinitionDefinition
Preparation, mixing, assembling and packaging or labeling of certain medicine for internal or external use for human being or veterinary purpose in response to a prescription or from an official pharmacopoeia

pricingpricing
How to price the preparationHow to price the preparation
The price of each material used in the preparation should be calculated and included in the price of the preparation for example the plastic bottles containing the preparation, the raw materials, also the drug used in the preparation
Example : • we used a 50 cc bottle--------1 pound• we used 5gms of salicylic acid powder i.e.500
gms of salicylic acid costs 250 pounds so the price of each gm will be 0.5 pound, so the 5 gms will cost 2.5 pounds

If the price of the preparation is 20 £So we write LS/100 cc
• 3 to 5 pounds are added for entering the laboratory.
• finally , we fix the price on the preparation by the following method

LiposomeLiposome
• Is a spherical vesicle composed of a bilayer membrane.
• Liposomes are used to deliver certain vaccines, enzymes, or drugs (e.g., insulin and some cancer drugs) to the body. When used in the delivery of certain cancer drugs, liposomes help to shield healthy cells from the drugs' toxicity and prevent their concentration in tissues (e.g., the kidneys, and liver), eliminating the common side effects of nausea, fatigue, and hair loss.
A- Unilamellar: Consisting of phospholipids bilayer
enclosing aqueous layer
B-Multilamellar vesicles (MLV) Consist of several lipid layers (up to 14) in
