Administration is recommending the appointment of Mr. James Dean as Executive Director of Employee and Community Relations.

Mr. Dean received his Bachelor of Science degree from Grand Canyon University and his Master of Education from University of Phoenix. He has eight years of experience in the Pendergast School District as a teacher, TOSA, and Assistant Principal, five years experience as a Principal in the Tolleson School District, and three years experience as a Principal in the Dysart Unified District which included opening and staffing two new K-8 facilities. Additionally, he is in his third year of serving in the District level position of Director of Community Relations in the Dysart School District. Mr. Dean will be placed at the salary of $100,000 with a $12,565.48 addendum, with benefits commensurate with the position. Mr. Dean's resume is attached for review.

A paper screening identified the most qualified candidates based on the application materials submitted. The candidates were interviewed by an administrative team that included district and school-level staff and support staff members. In addition, candidates completed written performance tasks including producing written communication and/or other job related activities.

Three (3) external candidates and one (1) internal candidate were interviewed for the position.

Ms. Buck received her Bachelor of Elementary Education from North Texas University and her Masters in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University. Ms. Buck has one and one-half years of experience as a special education teacher in the Canon School District and fourteen years experience in the Dysart District where she served as teacher, mentor teacher, TOSA and Assistant Principal. She was appointed Principal of Dysart Elementary and is in her seventh year as the building administrator.
