The Entrepreneurship Cell of Shyam Lal College was formed in the

month of September with the guidance and support of the Principal,

associated with the E-Cell, SLC.

Events Organised by the E-Cell, SLC till December’16.

Inaugural Session

The newly formed ‘Entrepreneurship Cell’ of Shyam Lal College

conducted a session on the topic “What is Entrepreneurship” &

“Some Famous Entrepreneurs” on 4th October’16 where the

members as well as the teachers involved in the session shared

their views and opinions about “The Crux of Entrepreneurship”.

The event was attended by the worthy Principal and many other

faculty members of the college.

A Group Discussion on “What is Entrepreneurship & Who is an

Entrepreneur?” was organized by the E-Cell, SLC on October 4th, 2016.

The discussion kicked off with great enthusiasm among the people who

were involved in the discussion. The riddles of many unanswered

questions were solved with out of the box thinking and a plethora of

opinions enlightened the discussion.

E - Cell, SLC organized ILLUMINATE WORKSHOP in collaboration with E-

Cell, IIT B for budding entrepreneurs with students participating from

other colleges too on 7th October’16. This workshop was a grand success

and was attended by students from various colleges across the university

and some of the students were even from outside the University of Delhi.

A detailed case study on problems in our college was done on 19th October ’16. Number of problems such as problem of waste incineration, no common platform for exchange of books etc. were discussed along with their solution and SWOT analysis.

Survey of Start-Ups

Team E-Cell , SLC started a short survey on Startups in Delhi from the month of October . Members of E-Cell regularly visit incubators, co-

working space and meet founders of various newly formed startups such as Corseco, Lets Barter India, Ketchup etc.

Members of E-Cell interviewed four professors from the college to take their advice on how entrepreneurial ecosystem of our college can be

improved on 25th October’16.

SWOT analysis of gifting industry was done by all the team members of E-Cell, SLC on 15th December’16. We have had a word with people of different age groups to get an idea of what they feel towards the multi-million dollar industry.

On 17th December, E-Cell framed the vision for the session 2016-17 as

“TEST. FAIL. RETEST. IMPROVE.”

The Entrepreneurship Cell of Shyam Lal College organized a fierce and lively debate on the topic “HIGHER STUDIES vs. JOB vs. ENTREPRENEURSHIP”. The event was held on 20th day of December where the members were divided into three groups each choosing their respective topics and presenting points in favor of the same.

The Cell is trying to promote the spirit of entrepreneurship among students throughout the college by interacting with the students and conducting short surveys in the form of online questionnaire.

A Group Discussion was organized on “Indian Startups & the perceived

startup bubble”on 23rd December, 2016. Further the impact of bubble

on the Indian Economy &startup ecosystem was also discussed on the same day.

E-Cell is planning to organize a pitching/ presentation workshop in the month of January.
