Welcome

To this second edition of MMM e-CONNECT. We are sure it will continue to help raise interaction level with the members on a wider

basis to make Marwari community more vibrant with active support from each of you. We desire to have your feedback and valuable

suggestions on this issue, which will help us to improve in future.

Marwari Mitra Mandal (Singapore) was formed and registered in 2005 with the objective of promoting social, cultural, educational &

recreational and welfare activities as well as hold celebrations for Marwaris in Singapore. We endeavor to promote intercultural

understanding between the Marwaris and other communities in Singapore and within Marwaris throughout the world.

MMM is close to its completion of one decade and we forsee the vibrant life in coming years. During the past 9 years our strength has

increased steadily and the current membership of your MANDAL is 322.

was Guest of Honor. Program was well

attended by the local community as

well as Indian community. Cultural

program was presented by students of

GIIS.

Diwali Dhamaka - 2014 (Glitz, Glamour & More)

October 18, 2014

Diwali Ball 2014 was organized at The

Ritz Carlton. Her Excellency Ms.

Vijay Thakur Singh, High

Commissioner of India, was the Chief

Guest of the Function. Member of

Parliament Mr. Lim Biow Chuan

graced the function as Special Guest.

President of MMM in his Welcome

Address, requested all to lighten up the

lamps in their heart by Positive

thoughts to overcome the darkness of

negativity and welcome goddess Maha

Lakshmi, with joy & enthusiasm.

He called upon all the members for

their active participation in various

social, cultural, religious functions as

well as sports and networking events of

the Mandal with their family and

friends to ensure that WE,

MARWARIS in Singapore get more

closer to each other as well as with

other communities of Singapore. He

welcomed all the new members on

board.

H’ble Chief Guest inaugurated the

function by lighting the lamp. She

appreciated the participation of various

communities in the program and

wished Diwali Greetings to all. She

expressed that letter M in the word

Marwari stands for Money as well as

Mercy. She informed that H’ble Chief

Minister of Rajasthan who was on

official visit to Singapore has also

conveyed her Diwali Greetings to all

Members of Marwari Mitra Mandal.

more than 500 members and guests.

the event. Singapore Sindhi

Association was represented by its

General Secretary. Personalities from

different communities joined to

celebrate the function. CEO of SINDA

Mr. K. Barathan as well as Mr. S

Devendran, Director Community

Engagement & Volunteer Management

Division, SINDA graced the function.

Formal Program was followed by

musical program Kal Aaj Aur Kal.

Diwali ki Ram Ram

Sneh Milan & Movie Night October 24, 2014

It has been age old tradition in

Marwari Community to have financial

year from Diwali to Diwali. After

Diwali Usually all go to meet & take

blessings from the elders and greet

friends. Marwari Mitra Mandal

organized a get together on 24th

October 2104, second day of Diwali at

Golden Village, City Square followed

by the screening of Movie HAPPY

NEW YEAR. Program was attended

by about 230 persons and was well

appreciated. Our special thanks to

Mr.Kamal Kishore and Mr.Balwant

Rao Jain who sponsored the snacks

for the event.

Talk on Legacy Planning and

Members interaction November 8, 2014

An informative talk on Legacy

Planning followed by members

networking was organized on 8th

November 2104 at Singapore Cricket

Club which was attended by 80

members. Mr. T G Tay, CEO of

Financial Life Coaching Pte. Ltd was

the speaker. He highlighted the

importance of making a Will and

proper Legacy Planning. Members

took active part in the

Question/Answer Session.

Commissioner of India Ms. Vijay

Thakur Singh to brief about the

upcoming events in Gandhi Nagar,

Gujarat.

President Santosh Kumar Tibarewala

represented Marwari Mitra Mandal in

the meeting. High Commissioner Mrs.

Singh highlighted the programs of

Pravasi Bharatia Diwas as well as

Vibrant Gujarat going to be held from

8th to 13

th January 2015 and requested

for active participation in the same.

She extended New Year greetings to

all and thanked the societies for their

arranging of various programs related

to Indian Culture.
