Course Objectives:Course participants will learn and demonstrate skills and knowledge of emergency ultrasonography through didactics andhands-on practice of point-of-care techniques.

Target Audience: Any clinician who is interested in the use of point-of-care ultrasound to evaluate emergency and critically ill patients.

Course Description:This course is based on a synthesis of the SAEM Ultrasound Core curriculum, the ACEP Emergency Ultrasound Guidelines,and discussions from multiple EM Ultrasound Fellowship Directors, and will provide hands-on training for the novice sonog-rapher as well as enhancing and reinforcing techniques for more experienced participants. The hands-on segments will use livemodels to deliver as much practical experience as possible to attendees, establishing a solid basis for clinical ultrasound practice.

Accreditation:This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council forContinuing Medical Education through the joint sponsorship of the American College of Emergency Physicians and Massachusetts Collegeof Emergency Physicians. The American College of Emergency Physicians is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing MedicalEducation to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
