Later in May 2006, the Union Government approved the National E-Governance Plan (NeGP), comprising of 27 Mission Mode Projects (MMPs) and 8 components to give a boost to E-Governance initiatives in India. A new study from IMARC Group entitled “Indian Smart Cards Market Report & Forecast 2011-2016” finds that E-Governance initiatives by the central and state governments are expected to create huge opportunities for the Indian smart cards industry.
