This project is in the PILOT phase at the moment so this option will be disabled by default. You musthave a healthlink certificate on your machine in order to search the National IHI Register.

Patient Personal Details

Add Patient

When creating a new patient from Add patient, the patients’ demographic details are sent to theHSE (via Healthlink) to request a search on the IHI Register.

If the search returns an IHI number, it will be decoded and stored in the patients record in the HPMdatabase. The 10-digit core IHI number will be displayed in the patient’s personal details record >Patient ID’s tab and in the Patients Chart.

Opening / Updating Patient Details

When a patients’ personal details are opened or updated, the patients’ demographic details are sentto the HSE (via Healthlink) to request a search on the IHI Register. The requests from patientpersonal details are only completed once per day unless the patients’ demographic details areupdated (Users clicks Ok on Patient Personal Details).

Patient IHI Number Audit

IHI Auditing is available from Patient Personal Details > Patient Id’s. Select IHI Number from the listand click View Audit button.

Healthlink Referral

Patients demographic details are sent to the HSE (via Healthlink) to request a search on the IHIRegister every time a healthlink referral is completed. [Documents > Electronic Referrals]

Select the Referral Type from the dropdown list and click Add.

Patients demographic details are sent to the HSE (via Healthlink) to attempt a search on the IHIRegister. If the search returns an IHI number, it will be decoded and stored in the patients record inyour HPM database. If the search returns a valid IHI number, this number will be sent to Healthlinkwith this referral.

Auditing (Pilot Only)

If you are part of the Pilot the HSE will require the IHI export file weekly for verification purposes forthe first 4-6 week period only. Select Administration and click IHI Export from the Export menu.

Click New Export . Click the ellipsis button and select the location to save theexported file and click Export.

Navigate to the path selected and submit the file to the HSE.
