We have already had an action packed start to the year and all of the children have settled into their learning quickly. This year we have not gained or lost any students (except our lovely 2019 Year 6’s who have headed out into the big wide world) or staff, which means that there is great continuity for everyone. I look forward to seeing all families at our Parent Information Evening this Thursday to discuss what learning will look like at Ellerston Public School in 2020. General Reminders ● Supervision will begin from 8:30am each morning, we ask that students do not arrive at school before this

time. ● School starts with our morning assembly each day at 9:00am. Students arriving after this time need to be

signed into school at the front office. Students leaving before the final bell at 3:00pm also need to be signed out at the office.

● If a student is away for any reason it is important to let the school know as soon as possible. This can be done by making a phone call or sending an email to the office, as well as, sending a note with your child when they return to school.

● Parking Reminder: Please ensure that when parking near either gate that vehicles are reverse parked, with rear to fence. All vehicles must also ensure that they are travelling at 40 km/h or below around our school.

● Our school is very conscious about students who have allergies, which may result in anaphylaxis. Please avoid sending in food with nuts in the main ingredient list. A note with further information will be released this week.

● School Banking - Wednesday

Swimming Carnival Congratulations to all of the students who participated in the Upper Invermain Small Schools Swimming Carnival at Scone pool last week. From our outstanding efforts on the day we were named CHAMPION SCHOOL. We are just waiting on some more photos to come in from parents and these will be uploaded to our school Facebook page. Congratulations to the following students who were named age champions:

● Riley Mitchell - Junior Boys ● Emily Grainger - Junior Girls ● Lucas Grimes - 11 Years Boys

Special mentions to Rosie Baker, who nailed the novelty Learner Events and Lara Robinson on a huge improvement from last year (not finishing a novelty event last year to swimming 3x50 m Freestyle races throughout the day)

From the P and C… Welcome to Term 1 2020 from the P&C. The P&C AGM will be held after the School Information Evening, on Thursday evening. This will be a brief meeting to elect your Executive Committee. All positions are open if you would like to nominate someone or yourself for President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, an assistant to the secretary, and Uniform attendant. The first general meeting will then follow on Monday Night 10th Feb at 6pm.
