e-News August 2012 MEN-TSEE-KHANG e-News TIBETAN MEDICINE COURSE IN ENGLISH Dharamsala Tibetan Medical & Astro. College, Men-Tsee-Khang organized a five days basic and ten days advanced course on Tibetan medicine in English to interested parci- pants from 6-13 August, 2012 in Dharamsala, Himachal Pradesh. The course was held at Men-Tsee- Khang Hall in the college campus. More than 20 parcipants joined the course. There were five ses- sions in a day consisng of a one and a half hour lecture for each session. A brief overview and history of Ti- betan medicine, the three humours, causes of disor- ders, treatment measures, diet & behaviour, rela- onship between Tibetan medicine and Tibetan Bud- dhism, relaonship between Tibetan Medicine and Tibetan Astrology and ethical code of a physician according to Tibetan system of healing was introduced for the basic course. Diagnosc tech- niques, urine analysis, causes and condions of various disor- ders, Tibetan massage therapy etc were taught in the advanced course. The parcipants were from dif- ferent countries - Japan, Spain, Germany, Ukraine and USA. The resource persons assigned for the course were Dr. Sonam Dolma, Dr. Wangdue, Dr. Nyima Gyaltsen, Dr. Tsering Thakchoe Drungtso, Dr. Tsultrim Kalsang, Dr. Sonam Dolkar Oshoe, Dr. Pas- sang Wangdu, Dr. Jamyang Dol- ma, Dr. Namdol Lhamo, Dr. Rinzin Sangmo and Astrologer Tenzin Tsewang.
