DEFINITION OF e-SAFETY

e- safety is about measures and best practices for Netizens to guard their

personal safety and the security of their networks.

WHAT IS CYBER BULLY??

• Cyberbullying - use of the Internet and

related technologies to harm other people, in

a deliberate, repeated, and hostile manner.

• Occurs among young people

• When an adult is involved, it may meet the

definition of cyber-harassment or cyber-

stalking

A child may be a cyberbullying others if she/he…• Quickly switches screens/ closes programs when you

walk by• Uses the computer at all hours of the night• Gets unusually upset if they cannot use the computer• Laughs excessively when using the computer• Avoids discussion about what they are doing on the

computer• Uses multiple online accounts/using an account that

is not their own

A child may be a victim of cyber bullying if he/she…• Unexpectedly stops using computer• Appears nervous/jumpy when an instant message, text

message or email appears• Appears uneasy about going to school/outside in general • Appears to be angry, depressed/ frustrated after using

computer• Avoid discussions about what they are doing on

computer• Becomes abnormally withdrawn from usual friends and

family members
