th ird floor one of the largest Dissecting Rooms in the West.

JIOSPITAL.

'rhe Hospital, under the exclusive control of members of the Faculty,is situated on Antoine street, west of Main, bas large, cOlllmodious balls,with wards sufficicnt to contain ample material for Medical and Rnrgical

teaching, thus gi ving the studen t advan tuge of bedside instruction.The llospita! receives tbe patients of lbe various Railroads entering

St. Joseph, aud bas the care of such of the county poor of BuchananCounty as require active treatment. Students of the School h.\Ve alsoaccess to the County Farm, Hume of tbe Friendless, City Ho pital, StateLunatic Asylum No.2, and such pati('nls from ahroad who avail them­

selves of the Hospital pril,jJeges. From all of these sources amplemeans for clinical instruction in:Medicine and Surgery is afforded. Thereis, in addition to this, a daily Free Dispensary Clinic at the CollegeBuilding.

COURSE OF INSTHeOT!O}\".

It will be the aim of the Faculty to give tile student as complete and

practical medical education as is possible in the time allotted. Theindividual branehe will be treated by the following methods:

CllE)IISTIW is taught in Lectures (three a week), illustrated by

experiments and specimens; the course embracing, also, selected chap­ters on Physical Science. Instrnction in Practical Chemistry in thelaboratory is given under the supervision of the Professor of Chemistry.

PRACTICAL ANATO)IT.-Lecture· (three a week), with practical dem­

onstrlltions, Ilnd daily instruction in dissections. Ample opportunities

will be afforded the students for the study of Anatomy, as the law of thisState provides that the bodies of all persons dying in charity hospitals orpoor houses, and unclaimed by friends, may be turned over to the medi­

cal colleges for purposes of dissection; hence anatomical materia! can be

furnished without extnt charge. Demon tration and examinations inthe dissecting room cvery evening. The opportunities given for thcstudy of practical anatomy cannot be surpassed. The unatomiclllrooms

arc largc. well ventilated and lighted, nnd sllPplied with e\'ery conve­

nience. They lire under the superintendenee nnd dircction of the

Demonstrator, who will always be present to ussist the student in hisanatomical studies.

degree who appear to the Faculty to he unfit to practic'e medicine, will herejected. As heretofore, their graduation fee will be returned, and theywill be l'equired to attend another full course of lectnres before they can

again present themsehps for examination. ~o fees are required for this

additional coulse of lectures. Candich\tes, however, who are well pre­pared in certain departments, but who do not pass an entir .Jy satisfactory

examination in certain other departments, may, at the pleasure of theFacully, be conditioned in those departments, not exceeding three innumber, in \\ hich they have been found to be deficient. Candidatesthus conditioned wlll be permitted to present themselves (or a sccondexamination in thc departments in which they have failed, at the end of

No two conFecutin courses of inslruetion shall be held as satisfying the

course and the end of the second is greater than fifteen months.

4. In ease a college hall adopt a systelllatie graduated scheme of

tuition, attendance 011 the whole of the same shall be equivalent to the

numbers not exceeding one yearly, to distinguished physiciolls 01' scien­

tific men of over forly years of age. But in such case the diploma shall
