Ltd. on July 25, 2016. A group comprising 25 students ofM.Com and two members of the faculty visited their

Branch office situated in B-Block Raqit Avenue. Amritsar.

Mr. Phulender Chaudhary Asst. Manager explained the

process of online trading of securities and students leamt

such steps in the process as putting a buying /selling bid,

cash/margin trading through limit price. This visit provided

a glimpse of security trading and helped them understand

the various related concepts such as derivates,Future/option contracts, Sensex in a better manner.

The marketing department of the company gave a

Every year in the beginning of the sesslon a

personal contact programme is held wherein a panel ofmembers of the faculty meets each new student

individually. The information of each student

pertaining to her educational and family background as

well as her interest and aptitude, career aspirations etc.

hold speci alized career counseling and skilldevelopment sessions throughout the year. Besides italso helps to bridge the gap between the teacher and

In addition to PCP, special interactivesessions were held for senior classes. Open house

discussions were held on topics - "Modern Women",

"Role of Education in Life", "Value based Education".

The participation of students in these discussions was

overwhelming and they sought to be involved in such

prograrnme for M.Com I Year students wherein they

were encouraged to join a CA/CS/Banklanyorganizationemploying more than 50 employees to get

practical work experience. More than 30 students

joined the internship during the summer holidays and

gained insight into practices ofbanking, accountancy

and auditing. They were highly appreciative of the

exposure they had during the internship and thanked the

formal communication in the budding professionals, a project

was initiated whereby regular workshops were conducted to

teach the students resume writing, job application, e-mail

etiquettes etc. They were also given tips regarding how to

introduce themselves while appearing in a job interview. A

written test was conducted to assess their proficiency in this

regards after running this project for forty-five days and the

top scorers have been enlisted for awards.

Gensrof Knewfadge Qoertien EonkAn initiative was made to build sound knowledge

base ofthe students through a question bank covering diverse

areas such as Banking and Economy, InformationTechnology, Global events, Sports and Media etc. A list ofquestions covering current events in these areas was put up on

the notice board daily. Towards the end of the Semester a

written quiz was conducted to assess the ability ofthe students
