Haynes Bridge Community,

We are almost at the end of the semester! The semester grade is final and will be aver-

aged with the 2nd semester grade for the end of the year grade. Do not let missing as-

signments impact a semester grade. Teachers work with students on NHIs for Major/

Minor Assessments. However, the may have NHIs in classwork and work ethic which will

impact a grade as well. Please review your child’s gradebook for all subjects and look for

any NHIs. An NHI means Not Handed In. If they turn in those assignments the teacher will

be able to see what your child has mastered or struggles with and it will impact the class

grade.

I am saddened to share that a former Haynes Bridge student Dre’Landon Brown tragically

had his life taken on Thanksgiving. Haynes and Centennial were a home to Dre and his

four siblings for many years. A fund was set up through Coach Burch at Centennial

https://www.gofundme.com/funeral-expenses-for-dre-brown. The services are this Sun-

day at Southern Cremation and Funerals in Marietta. Please keep his family in your

thoughts/prayers as they work through this very difficult time.

Thank you,

Mrs. Lauren Malekebu

Box Tops Update!

Parents,

Thank you for your box top donations!

We submitted over 1500 box tops this month. The next deadline for submission is

March 1st. We would love to collect over 5000 between now and then! Every little bit helps!

Please keep clipping and sending in the box tops with your students. Box tops can be dropped off in the media center. All funds earned through box tops goes back to the school to

help support teacher mini-grants, technology, and other student initiatives.

Parents,

Throughout the school year, families consider an alternate school setting for their child or a physician needs ad-ditional information to help evaluate your child’s medication needs and effectiveness. When these situations arise, they usually request that your child’s teachers complete a teacher assessment, evaluation or recommenda-tion form.

If this situation occurs at any time throughout the school year, please contact the Counseling Secretary, Nita Coloma, to assist you with this request. There is a required Fulton County Release of Information form that must be completed by the parent prior to our faculty members being allowed to share any such information with a third party.

Mrs. Coloma will coordinate the collection of the forms between you and the teachers and forward them to the requesting school, organization or physician’s office prior to your child’s next appointment or registration dead-line. We do ask that you please try to afford us at least a 7-10 day turnaround time to complete your request.

If you have any additional questions, please contact Nita Coloma in the Counseling Department at 470-254-8392.
