CSU EARLY ASSESSMENT PROGRAM (EAP)§ Through the Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium (SBAC), EAP
determines a students level of preparation for English and mathematics college level courses at any of the 23 CSU campuses. SBAC renders CAASPP EAP scores.
§ Early scores provide students an opportunity to improve their skills during their senior year.

THE FOUNDATION TO STUDENT SUCCESSExecutive Order 1110 establishes CSU policy regarding first-year enrollment in CSU-required written communication and mathematics/quantitative reasoning courses and college-level skills assessment to inform placement in appropriate courses.

PROFESSIONAL LEARNING: ERWCThe ERWC (Expository Reading and Writing Course) is a college preparatory, rhetoric-based English language arts course for grade 12 designed to develop academic literacy (advanced proficiency in rhetorical and analytical reading, writing, and thinking).§ Data indicate that better prepared students graduate more quickly and in
higher numbers, and ERWC remains one of the best ways to equip students with that preparation.
