The EAP for English has two sections. The Language Arts essay: scored

according to a rubric by three separate readers.

Multiple choice: 45 items from the CST's (math and Language Arts) plus the 15 additional multiple choice EAP questions that you may do at the end of the tests.

It will tell you if you are ready for college level English.

If you pass, you get right in to your college level course!

Failure to Meet the EPT Requirement Costs Time and Money

Students cannot enroll in for-credit college English classes until they meet the requirement.

They must spend time taking remedial English classes during their freshman year until they meet the requirement.

They will graduate later because they get no degree credit for remedial English classes.

They will have to pay additional charges for the remedial classes. (This can be very expensive)

If they do not pass the remedial classes by the end of their first year, they may be disenrolled from the university.

Never say never. › Many people decide after high school that

they want to go to college. Don’t shut the door before your more grownup self has decided what he/she really wants to do.

› If you pass the test and still don’t go to college, it won’t hurt you. You won’t regret having more choices.

Work on practice essays.> Pay attention to teacher/peer feedback.

Do your best on your CST’s. Get to class on time the days of

testing. Eat a good breakfast the day of testing. Get a full night’s sleep the night before

testing.
