introduction

Best known for being the first woman to fly across the atlantic ocean.

3 Key qualities

-taking risks-brave-perseverance

What I find interesting is that she made a roller coaster using fence rails and an old pair of roller skates with her sister.

I CHOSE THIS PERSON BECAUSE she endangered her life to change human kind.

Famous Quotation:

"adventure is worthwhile in itself."

in 1924 her parents divorced. Her dad had a hard time keeping jobs, so they moved a lot. he turned from being fun and loving to someone who was mean and unreliable. he also started getting drunk!!!

I think she may have been inspired to fly because she moved so much.

i read that in 1917 she went to canada and saw soldiers that were wounded in World war I. She saw men without arms and legs. some were paralyzed or blind. this made her want to quit school and become a nurse's helper so she could care for the injured soldiers.

i think she is being empathetic because she quit school to do this!

i read that when she was learning how to fly in the rain, her plane flew upside down. she stayed in the plane because of her seat belt.

I would've been very scared and tried to jump out of the plane. i wouldn't have tried flying a plane ever again.

i read that amelia knew exactly what she wanted to do. she worked in the mailroom of a telephone company to earn money for flying lessons.

i think that she took action by getting a job to save money for lessons and eventually a plane.

she flew across the atlantic ocean solo, Although people told her not to do this alone, but she did it!

I think that even when people encouraged her to not to do that solo, she ignored their advice and accomplished it her self.

AMelia crash landed many times when she was learning to fly. One time she got thrown into an open field.

I think she did not give up even when she almost died!

women are allowed to do many jobs that men are doing. amelia helped the world see how intelligent women can be. she also inspired women and men to take risks.

I'm A change maker when I am kind and flexible.

I am similar to my change maker because i like vehicles. I am also interested in planes.

My Change maker is connected to eleanor roosevelt. they both liked

to be independent. amelia liked to fly planes and eleanor liked to drive

cars. they were good friends. Author Talk
