Caring At Work Recipients
Your Body is Talking, Are You Listening? Workshop
Date: Saturday, September 17th, 2011 Pre-Register by September 2, 2011 Location: NSCC Burridge Campus
Time: 10:00 am- 12:00 pm Cost $30.00 In this session, Jeannine will help you learn tools and strategies to help you listen to your
body, to connect in a different way and help you relieve stress and relax. If you are looking to find new ways of communicating and understanding yourself or if you are looking
for ways to help reduce your stress in your work environment or at home, come and experience whole body focusing and what it has to offer. This is an experiential session, so come with an open mind. All you need is comfortable clothing. If you wish, you may
bring your yoga mat as you may prefer to do some of the exercises laying down, but know that it is not necessary.
Facilitator: Jeannine Riant, a former teacher/principal, once found herself struggling through tough emotional times, feeling a disconnect, as if something was missing. She has since turned things around, and is now on the hunt to help you answer that well known question „Am I coming or going‟? Connecting her newly found insights to new action is what has helped her connect on a deeper level. Jeannine wants to share these new insights and techniques with you that she has discovered along the way. Helping you increase your
energy, decrease your stress, become more focused and grounded, and connect you with these tools and methods that will facilitate your life. Having a solid background in the holistic world and 10 years experience in the field of teaching, Jeannine now combines knowledge from both fields of expertise and pulls everything together as she puts the fun back into mental focus. She is entertaining, gentle, com-
passionate and will assist you in helping you find your connections… and you may be surprised to see where and how they pop up!

community environment or school setting. These gymnastically themed activity based lesson plans are age appropriate, fun, very
active, and can be done with minimal equipment.
The 20 weeks worth of lesson plans are very user friendly, circuit based, begin with an activity and end with a closing activity. The lesson
plan design is consistent from week to week so that the children become comfortable and confident with the routine. Activity or skill
difficulty increases as the children progress through the weekly plans.

We all say it - "Our staff are our most important asset". We recognize that they are, in large part, the leading determinant of quality. explore motivational techniques and strategies that can be used in your organization.
Facilitator: Susan Willis is the Executive Director of Point Pleasant Child Care Centre, a non-profit organization with three locations in Halifax. She is also the President of Willis & Associates, Early Learning and Care Consultants, part time faculty at the Nova Scotia Col-
lege of Early Childhood Education and a longtime advocate for quality early learning and care programs for young children.

YOGURT RECIPE To make about 2 L of yogurt, mix up powdered milk to make about 1.5 L. Add a bit more powdered milk than the recipe suggests so that there isn't too much excess water at the end. Then add about 1 cup of whole milk and/ or cream -- enough to get the batch to set. Heat all this to 80 C, then let it cool to 50 C (it's alright to go as low as 42 C, in case you forget). Add this to 4 tablespoons of starter and let incubate for at least 3 hours. Add frozen fruit, you can add a little maple syrup, homemade granola Recipe From Early Learning Child Care Program
