Sachin Tendulkar, in full Sachin Ramesh

Tendulkar (April 24, 1973, Bombay [Mumbai],India). Tendulkar was born in Bombay (nowMumbai). His mother, Rajni, working ininsurance,and his father, Ramesh Tendulkar, aMarathi novelist, named Tendulkar after his

favourite music director, Sachin Dev Burman.Tendulkar's elder brother Ajit encouraged himto play cricket. Tendulkar has two othersiblings: a brother Nitin, and sister Savita.Tendulkar attended Sharadashram Vidyamandir(High School),where he began his cricketing

career under the guidance of his coachRamakant Achrekar. Achrekar would put a one-Rupee-coin on the top of the stumps, and thebowler who dismissed Tendulkar would get thecoin. If Tendulkar passed the whole sessionwithout getting dismissed, the coach would givehim the coin. Tendulkar considers the 13 coins .
