Earth 2050 & Beyond

IS IT POSSIBLE TO SAVE THE FUTURE ?

• There are two things we can do with our project…..

• To show the imaginary & fantasy future.• To discuss the problem we face in the

future.

FUELING THE FUTURE

• “Energy resources are scarce. Even if demand doesn’t increase, there could be as little as 45 years of oil left. Gas is less of a constraint, but transporting it and using it to meet transport demand is a major issue. Coal is the most abundant with 172 years left, but this is the worst carbon culprit.”

• A doubling in total energy demand as emerging market growth powers ahead.

• A doubling in the amount of carbon in the atmosphere, more than three and a half times the amount recommended to keep temperatures at a safe level.

Q. WHAT TYPE OF TRANSPORTATION & INDUSTRIAL ECONOMY WE CAN MOVE INTO?

 • Most of the people said that in future trucks and aeroplanes will be run

by batteries , but experts says that we are not able to develop the batteries till 2050 in the way so that they can run aeroplanes or any heavy vehicles .so it is again an imagination to see electrified hybrid planes and heavy vehicles running by batteries .

• We are going to need transportation liquid fuels for those vehicles ,that will directly replace the petroleum based fuels that were in use .

BRAZIL LOOKING AT THE RANGE OF ALTERNATIVES

• Brazil is the world’s number two ethanol producer and the leading ethanol exporter, using sugarcane as its feedstock. Ethanol production has expanded in recent years and brazil will be the worlds number one ethanol producer in 2012-13.

DRIVEN BY DESIGN

• As summit said there will be 2 billion cars around the wrold.so where are we? can we deal with 2 billion automobiles.

• Now the question arises does it (automobile) bringing closer to where you want to get or actually just bringing you farther ?

• An average American spends nearly 350 hours a year in their cars, 100 hour of them when they stuck in traffic.

• The cost of traffic is people’s time, fuel wastage and an emotional torture of frustration. IIPM/F/11-14 7

NO. OF CARS

SOLUTIONS

•  • Americans found out with the help of Arial view that the distance

between the cars running on the road is very much and if we have the technology for cars to drive more closely and safely then we can increase the utilization of roads.

• Maps in the future will help people to get places either more safely or more efficiently, today just help to get from point A to point B, but what if I want to get at some place using the least amount of fuel possible or I got a hybrid vehicle & I want to know that I got a plenty of charge to not only get there but to get back to home also.

• Here nokia came up with such software for digital mapping.

IIPM/F/11-14 9

EXAMPLES

NOKIA’S LOCATION & COMMERCING  • In Chicago nuke’s location & commercing is developing the

next generation of mapping .Radar , Sonar 360 degree video all are components of what Nokia digital mapping. They are generating 3D maps and with the help of this software, we can measure distances, which road got the least traffic, which way will be the most fastest or efficient.”

CARS THAT DRIVE THEMSELVES (SCANIA)• Autonomous vehicle technology has a tremendous potential to

improve efficiency of road infrastructure. By removing human from the car will eliminate all the wrong things we do behind the wheel, and by autonomous driving system & 3d mapping we can make driving safer and more energy efficient.

• That next generation vehicle is being built right now by the Swedish trucking company scania. This vehicle can read the 3d mapping and they can talk to each other and to infrastructure also.

SEARCHING FOR UTOPIA

MASDAR CITY

• United Arab Emirates is building a new city named as Masdar near Abu Dhabi in the Arabian Desert. It sounds place like Utopia.

• Masdar city of Abu Dhabi will be the city of the future and the role model for the World. The city will rely entirely on solar energy and other renewable energy sources, with a sustainable, zero-carbon, zero-waste ecology. Among the first construction projects will be a 40 to 60 megawatt solar power plant.
