Willow ParkTHECITY

Willow Park is located north and south of Interstate 20 about twenty miles west of Fort Worth in eastern Parker County.

Farmers first settled in the area in the 1850s. About 1940, with the completion of U.S. Highway 80, crews constructed a scenic roadside park that included willow trees and a pond. After the completion of Lake Weatherford in 1957, more residents moved to the area development of El Chico Ranch Estates.

In 1963 residents voted to incorporate under the name of Willow Park. The community had a golf course, fire department, and several churches. Additional subdivisions, small businesses, larger chains, and professional offices, as well as a police department, were put into place during the 1980s.

Based on the data from 2006 the estimated population of Willow Park, Texas was 3,069.

Membership in the East Parker County Chamber of Commerce (EPCCC) is an important and valuable tool for local businesses, professionals and nonprofit organizations. Reflecting the vitality of our region, this past year was a dynamic one for the EPCCC, featuring the purchase of our office building and the hiring of our Chamber president. The heightened visibility of free-way frontage proved beneficial for our Chamber and our members: The office bustles with myriad commit-tee meetings and business people who drop in to learn more about the Chamber and our area. EPCCC is a strong resource for businesses and local residents. Amid the slowdown of our nation’s economy, Texas leads the nation in job creation and the economic growth of Parker County continues to be strong, with several exciting and significant commercial projects now on the drawing board. This is a unique area, notable for its picturesque surroundings, rich Western history, proximity to world-renowned museums and theaters, educational excellence and healthy economy. This friendly community is both urban and rural in

flavor; residents enjoy bike rides, trail rides and cattle roundups. Each spring, the Moritz Ride for Heroes attracts 1,500 cyclists to the rolling hills of Parker

Parker County’s rich tapestry of cattle barons and cowboys, Broadway stars and national political leaders is shared and showcased in galleries that are truly awe-inspiring and reflects all that is Parker County.
