Happy Easter! I am so glad Spring has finally arrived!! To celebrate the arrival of Spring, the Women’s Ministry is going to have another “Movie Night” featuring the Christian Comedian ANITA RENFROE. The title of the DVD is “And I Mean That in the BEST Possible Way”. You do not want to miss this. It will be Tuesday, April 21st at 6:30 in the Hensley Hall. On Saturday, May 2nd, we will have the “Mad Hatter Tea Party” at 2:00. The lady doing the presentation has a collection of over 200 hats from all over the world. She will let us pick one out to wear and will give a brief talk on some of the hats. If you have your own hat, wear it!!! For all the young misses we will have a gift we have made for them to wear! Mark your calendars for these 2 events: April 21st and May 2nd. See you there. As always, it is a pleasure to serve. Gail Bettenhausen

“Give me understanding, and I shall keep Your law; Indeed, I shall observe it with my whole heart.
Make me walk in the path of Your commandments, For I delight in it. Incline my heart to Your testimonies, And not to
covetousness. Turn away my eyes from looking at worthless things, And revive me in Your way. “

Worship Ministry
I want to say thank you to all the people involved in the worship ministry. Instrumentalist, vocalist, sound tech and computer tech. It takes a lot of folks to pull the service off each week, along with a tremendous amount of commitment, dedication and hard work. To each of you...thank you!!!! Men's Ministry
By the time this article comes out we will be into the next session of 33. It has been a blast watching men's lives change and hearing all the stories along the way. Please pray for the men who are participating in this awesome time of discipleship. When the men rise up to lead in a Godly way, the family will follow.

March 29th “I Love My Church” campaign launched. This five-week cam-paign and will be a fun journey as we further demonstrate our passion for the local church. T-Shirts and wristbands will be worn, and banners will be on display throughout the campus. If you have not yet signed up to partici-pate on the Wednesday group study please do so; the first meeting is April 1st.
Easter on April 5th this year. This is a very special day and many people will be willing to come to church more so than at any other time. Let me encourage you to pray and invite your friends and family members to be your guest on that day.
Spring Crusade, “Winning for Christ”, is scheduled for April 12th-15th. Dr. Steve Hale will be our guest speaker. He is one of the most scheduled evangelists throughout the Southern Baptist Convention. I have personally known him for nearly 30 years. Your heart will be blessed and challenged. Bring family, friends, and co-workers to this special event. Thanks for allowing me to serve here at East Side with the greatest people on earth.
Blessings,
Pastor, Chris Butler John 3:30

The Lord promises me in Jeremiah 29:11-13, “I
know the plans I have for you…to give you a fu-
ture and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and
come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. You
will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me
with all your heart.” Times of refreshing come,
indeed, in the presence of the Lord (Acts 3:19), and
He will restore my soul (Psalm 23:3) and the joy of
His salvation (Psalm 51:12).
Oh, Lord, may my prayer time be much more than
telling You what I want or need. May it forever be
a time of deepening fellowship with You…
Here's the schedule of those hosting the 6:30 PM Home Prayer Meetings:

“I Love My Church” We have received many great
comments on why you love East Side!
I would like to tell you why I love my church. I love East Side because of the many
godly people. I love how you care for and support the church staff and each other. I love that your church is important to you. I love working with
Brother Chris and his passion for the lost and un-churched. I love East Side for the commitment
and hard work of the ministerial and support staff. But most of all, I love East Side because I know God’s hand is on this wonderful church and I am
sure He has great plans in place for us to accomplish. Pray with me for all of East Side to
be obedient to God’s vision.
The I Love My Church campaign is being followed up by I Love My Church Wednesday
Bible Study. Make sure you sign up for it!
Student Building Update The Student Building is completed now
with the exception of installing four ceiling fans, four ceiling tiles, cleaning,
setting up the chairs, and sound equipment, etc.
Thanks to you East Side, it looks very nice and finally, our youth have an updated place to meet and worship! Our student building has been old
and dark for a long time. Now it is warm and Inviting, and it will continue to draw students to East Side.
We did not have money for new carpet. Once we
get new carpet, it will compare to any student center in the state. It is a very large room and new carpet will cost $11,000 to $12,000. Pray with us that God will place this need on the heart of our
people to give to this important need. I can’t wait for our dedication Sunday for you to see it. We will
be setting that date soon, after our Easter and Crusade events. Isn’t God great?!
And isn’t East Side awesome?!

Wednesday Bible Study Hour “I love My Church” is a 5-week Bible study beginning Wednesday, April 1 at 6:00 pm in Hensley Hall.
It is an in-depth study to help us explore the different ways we can show love. We will have snacks, and then we will watch a short video before going to our classes to study and discuss the topic. If you have not attended the
Wednesday night Bible studies, you have missed a great opportunity to learn more about the Lord and yourselves, and to make new friends. Sign up now for the “I Love My Church” Bible study; I
promise that you will be blessed!
Thursday Morning Ladies Bible Study The ladies will have a new Bible study starting back this fall. Watch for more info in the following months.

Dear All: These are exciting days to be a part of the East Side Baptist Family. As of this note, we have two mission teams working, one in Haiti and one in Warrenton. We are in the middle of our March to Missions Campaign, with a goal of $50,500. We have received an extra special blessing this year. A member of our church family has challenged us to give and give sacrificially by offering to match dollar for dollar our March/April giving up to $50,000. I hope you are prayerfully considering what God would have you give. This is nothing short of a God thing! We have lots of activities scheduled for April. Please keep a close eye on the Voice and weekly bulletin for announcements. April 12-15 is our Winning for Christ Crusade with Steve Hale. Please invite someone and be present, expecting a blessing. If you haven’t gotten a “I love my Church” T shirt, you can still get one. Thank you for allowing me to be your 55+ and Missions Pastor! You all are the greatest!
