As Assistant to the Provost for Research I report to the provost and work closely with the Office of Sponsored Programs

(OSPR). This new position is a pivotal position for the success of the University’s strategic plan which calls for the significant

expansion of extramural support for the university’s research, creative works and service activities and for a strengthening of

Program Development

Co-founder and Co-Director of the Institute for Public Health Research and Innovation. Founded

first Center at ESU in 15 years and serve as its inaugural co-director. The Institute brings together

researchers from regional academic centers, medical centers and the pharmaceutical industry to carry

out applied research. The institute is externally funded through grants and contracts currently totaling

$1.5 million.

Design and implementation of the “Fitness Assessment & Sport Testing” (FAST) Academy. This

center allows students working with faculty the opportunity to provide clinical services to members of

the community, that gives both students and faculty practice-based experience, and opportunities for

research and provides the department a source of revenue.

created the College’s first Assistant Dean Position, to assist Dean in the development of new strategic programs,

a student outreach position with the Hispanic Center of the Lehigh Valley, this is a graduate assistant position to

help manage community-based internship opportunities for students, and identified internal resources to create a

College-wide clinical internship compliance coordinator.

to design an advising model that identifies academic and community milestones students could reach through

their four years to better guide them toward degree completion and graduation.

which coordinated the University’s Service-Learning Program which developed 16,500 service learning hours per

year in 60 community organizations.
