1 Sue and I hit the ground running after the AGM, with the very successful South East Regional AGM Rally at St Richards, Bexhill on Sea. Well done to East Sussex Committee and Members for all your help to make this rally a show piece for the Centre. This was followed, the weekend after, by the Dinner Dance at Barnsgate Manor great food and fantastic value at a great venue. My thanks go to Vice Chairman and fellow Rally Officer Maisie Bennett and her husband Gerry. As I write this, Sue and I are surrounded by New Year paperwork. The rally is really taking shape. Looking forward to the 28th December, let the party begin. We will be having a quiet Christmas this year, breakfast with Catherine, Tom, Kai and Freya. Then back home for dinner with Helen, Steven, Natasha, Isabel, Frederick and not forgetting George. As I said a quiet Christmas. Next year we have a good mix of rallies. Starting with Bluenose at White House Farm (waiting list in operation), an extended rally for Valentines at Willingdon School, followed by our Birthday at Uplands College. St George and an Easter Dragon may be in attendance at Pestalozzi, a new site for some of us in the Centre. Some good old favourites Wylands, might get some fishing there. The 6 Bells at Chiddingly, Horam Manor Touring Park, Berwick Field and Royal Victoria Country Park Netley. A holiday rally at Stowford Farm Meadows Devon. The National at Sandringham this year has been very popular and is already full; but we have spaces on Carrington Park at Milford on Sea the same weekend. Sue and I look forward to see you on a rally in 2017. We hope you had a great Christmas and wish you a happy and prosperous New Year. Note from the Newsletter Editor…Happy 2017 Everyone………A thought to consider….I don’t know about you, but when I say

to (quite a few) of my friends and work colleagues that I am going on a rally for the weekend, asthe uninitiated, they don’t really get it. Some people think it’s a upscaled version of camping andcan’t quite understand what the attraction is of a grassed field. As I assure them, it’s much morethan that; much better too. We never have to pack light and have our nominated creaturecomforts around where ever we are. I think it is a truly wonderful thing to be able to change yourview each time and put that kettle on, sit back, have a cuppa and relax. I am just wondering, doyou have similar conversations with people, when they ask, “Are you doing anything nice thisweekend?”We are an interesting community, from all walks of life. With that in mind, please see and give athought to the suggestion on page seven of this edition. I shall see if I can find time in a busyschedule to organise something. Maybe I can tie it in with another thought I have, as we move

into a fresh year….! I have too much ‘stuff’. Is it the same for you? I amconsidering have a good sort through of the mountain on things, mostly piledin the attic, to see if I actually ‘do’ need to keep them. The thought of “I’ll justkeep that by, in case I need it.” Does that happen to you. The trouble is Ithink I’ve kept by so many things, that I’ve lost track of what I have kept byand so if I actually needed something in particular now, I probably sourceanother one of what ever it was rather than remembering I already havesomething I could use already! So, maybe if I organise a ‘coffee morning’type event, it might just have a ‘Bring and Buy Sale’ type theme? Keep Calmand Rally on……
