EMCATOS – 2006 “GOING for the GOLD”
Greetings, EMCATOS Members and Friends! Welcome back from what we hope was a most enjoyable summer! We are in the process of rolling up our sleeves in preparation for what promises to be a very busy season ahead of us! There is much to tell you and limited space, so let’s cut to the chase.
On the next page there is a list of Upcoming Events. Please review this closely. You will note that there is no EMCATOS Social in September, but there are special events scheduled for the 10th and 17th. In addition, our October Social will be on October 8 versus the 1st. Needless to say, there will be no Social in November due to our Regional Convention, but we will have our Holiday Bash with Jim Riggs on December 3 at the Shanklin Music Hall.
Much of the PR for our upcoming regional will be presented in the July/August and
September/October issues of Theatre Organ. Due to publication difficulties, we expect that the July/August issue will not be in most folks’ hands until perhaps as late as mid-September. We are somewhat upset by this development and have taken steps to hopefully remedy the situation – including, but not limited to, enclosing the convention and hotel registration forms with this issue of the Eastern Pipes for your use.
Due to an unforeseen scheduling conflict, Ron Rhode will be unable to play the Phipps
Experience at the Regional. But, we are fortunate, indeed, to have signed up Chris Gorsuch to tame the mighty beast.
The next time most of you encounter the Mighty EMCATOS Wurlitzer, it will be on a lift, thanks to
the efforts of Garrett Shanklin, Don Phipps, et al.
Lew Williams and Jan Peters will be the guest artists for our double-header concerts in mid-November. See you soon! The Editors
