How to Reset Your Camera Settingsif You Mess Them Up

One thing people worry about is changing their camera settings and messing them up and not being able to get them back to where they were. When learning your digital camera settings you may mess up some settings. If you do there is a really easy way to get your camera settings back to the way they were when you got your camera. Every digital camera from Point&Shoot to Digital SLR cameras have a Reset or Clear All setting in their menu to reset the camera settings to the factory settings they had when you bought the camera. You may have to search each menu in your digital cameras menu to find this set-ting. It is generally has the word Reset or Clear in the setting name.

Here are examples of Clear and Reset settings.

Three factory settings you may want to resetafter resetting to factory settings

After resetting your digital camera to the way it came from the factory there are a couple of settings you may want to change. 1. Some cameras are shipped with the quality setting at about half. I would suggest checking your quality settings and making sure they are set for full quality. 2. Some cameras are shipped with a set ISO setting in the Program, Shutter, Aperture and Manual shooting modes. If you don’t know much about ISO I would suggest setting it to Auto in these shooting modes. 3. If you are using a Point&Shoot camera I would suggest turning off digital zoom in the main menu. Digital zoom crops into the image in the camera giving you a smaller image which may not look as good as you want. I suggest zooming your lens which will give you a full image.
