According to Officer Steven Kelter of the Greenbelt police rorce. wbo is the System Opera1or (SYSOP) and driving force behind the aew facility. .. BBS is a sy5tem which en­ables people 10 share files and programs, send electronic mail, chat, and at the same time post public messages. With a graphical interface it becomes fairly simple for beginners to navigate the system.

The BBS harbors approxi· mately 10,000 files and is growing at a rapid pace. Users can access conferences, White House press releases. discus­sions about the risioc incidence of AIDS, ads for canoes in the Local For-Sale file, and Sharewue gaqte~. Tbey can dispel any lurking doubts about
