Eavis – Promos

The workflow for adding a new Promo to a page is in two stages - firstly create a promo, secondly add it to your page.

Before You Start Go to Eavis (https://production.bbc.co.uk/eavis/) and select the Event you want to work on. If you do not have access, contact R&M.Support@bbc.co.uk

You Will Need A new Event or an existing Event in Eavis. See the guide to Adding An Event for more information.

Step-By-Step Guide 1. Create Promo

Navigate to the Promos tab and click the green Create promo button at the top of the Promo

Library.

2. Add Title and Image PID

At the top of the next screen add your Title, Image PID, add Description and Target Url.

3. Icon Overlay and Promo Type

Toward the bottom of the same page, use the drop-down menus to select the icon overlay

you would like (this field is optional) …

…and the type of Promo you would like to add. Select from Url, Act, Line-Up or Videos page

If you select Act, you will then have to select an Act from your Line-Up from a secondary

drop-down menu.

The most common Promo type is URL. Simply add a full Target URL in the blank field.

4. Save Promo

Once complete, click the green Save changes button in the bottom right corner of the screen.

5. Select Promo Position

Your Promo will now appear in the Promo Library.

In the left Promos panel, select where you would like the Promo to appear.

Note that promos display on the website in blocks of three and seven.

Home Tier 1, Home Tier 2 and Home Tier 3 promos appear only on the event homepage.

Promos selected from Act dropdowns appear only on Act pages.

Click the green + button next to the Promo you would like to add.

You can select whether a promo appears at the top or bottom of the Act page using the Act

dropdown

You will need to confirm your selection in the following

pop-up. Click the blue OK button to continue.

Your Promo will now appear in the Promos panel.

6. Reorder and Delete Promos

Reorder your Promos using the Up and Down arrows.

Delete Promos using the X button.

7. Edit Promo Dates

Click on the Clock button to edit the dates for your Promo. Give your Promo a start date/time

and an end date/time. Once complete, click the green Save button.
