eBay Parts FAQs
Q. Can I use my existing eBay/PayPal account? A. Yes, existing accounts can be used for eBay parts, however it is preferred that they are in the name of the dealership, rather than a personal account. Also the Online Client Service team may require your eBay password to link the parts stock. Q. Is PayPal required? A. Yes, it is mandatory to have a PayPal account for an eBay store. This allows eBay to identify fraudulent sellers. For more information on PayPal visit https://www.paypal-business.com.au/home Q. How is an eBay Store different to an eBay Account? A. eBay Stores are where sellers can display all their listings and tell buyers about their business. For more information visit http://help.ebay.com.au/Help/Selling/Stores/eBay_Stores_overview Q. What will I be billed by eBay and PayPal? A. All fees billable by eBay and PayPal can be viewed here:
eBay - http://help.ebay.com.au/Help/Selling/Stores/eBay_Stores_fees
PayPal - https://www.paypal-business.com.au/why-paypal/no-hidden-fees Q. My parts require moderation. Why? A. EBay allows for a lot more detail that can be exported from your DMS. Some of these are a requirement by eBay, such as categories, and shipping options. By moderating the parts, you are giving them the best chance to stand out on eBay and attract a buyer’s attention. Q. What is a “Product”? A. In the parts system on the Dealer Dashboard, we refer to a “Product” as a part that is ready to display online. Parts that come from your DMS will need photos, categories, and descriptions added. When these have been added, the part is considered a “Product” Q. How does Dealer Solutions calculate the listing totals? A. Listings are calculated per month, on a total of current listings plus new listings. For example, if you have 200 parts still listed from last month, and add another 500 throughout the month, your total would be 700. Listings that are removed in that month do not gain credits to this total, the final amount is the tally of all listings made throughout that month. Q. Do prices need be inclusive of GST? A. Yes, all prices should be quoted as GST inclusive. This will remove any confusion from the buyer when it comes time for you to invoice. Q. Does quantity mean how many I have, or how many per purchase? A. The quantity in the listing shows the amount you have available. For example, a single pack of screws would be quantity 1, despite there being more than 1 screw in the pack. When a customer makes a purchase, they can choose the quantity of units from how many you have available. Q. Can I have eBay motors and eBay parts on the same account? A. No, motors and parts must be kept separate.
