Our General Exclusions

These are exclusions that would apply regardless of which plan you selected, therefore we

recommend reading and understanding these carefully.

1. Pre-existing faultsWe would not cover any loss, damage, liability, cost or expense of any kind caused by or resulting from poor or faulty design, workmanship or materials relating to your original installation. This would also include any defect or failing which may be attributed to the original design and installation.

2. Your boiler serviceYour boiler service will be free on our cover plans, however failure to have your boiler serviced within the first 30 days of your policy may deem your policy invalid. You will also need to ensure that your boiler is serviced annually, failure to contact us when your boiler service is due or to provide access may invalidate your policy.

3. Working order & obsolete partsYour boiler must be in good working order. Any additional items you require covered must also be in good working order. For example, if you were to take out “Boiler & Central heating cover” and we deemed that your radiators were not in working order, we would reserve the right to cancel your policy. We also reserve the right to cancel your policy if we don’t believe any of the items you required covered are in good working order. This would be determined at your boiler service. We also reserve the right to cancel your policy if parts for your boiler are obsolete.

4. Gas domestic boilers onlyYour boiler must be a gas domestic boiler. We do not cover commercial boilers or boilers of any other gas type.

5. Accidental or damage caused by another company & deliberate misuseWe do not cover any accidental damage. We also do not cover any damage caused by another company or anyone doing work(s) in your home. If we suspect you have caused damage to your system through deliberate misuse, we reserve the right to cancel your policy.

6. Damage due to your supplyThe supply of your gas, water or electricity. We won’t repair any damage that’s caused by changes in, or problems with, the supply of your gas, water or electricity. This would also mean the External water supply stopcock If we can’t turn off the external water supply stopcock to your home to complete your repair.

7. Dangerous working conditionsWe reserve the right to cancel your policy any if we believe your home has unsafe working conditions. For example, if we believe there’s asbestos present in your property.

8. SludgeYour policy would not be covered if we found there was significant amounts of sludge, limescale, corrosion or debris in the system.

9. Weather damageYour policy would not be covered if we believed any damage or issues were caused due to weather conditions or natural disasters. Ie. Significant changes in temperate, frost, storm damage etc.

10. Breakdows OnlyYour policy would only cover breakdowns. This applies to the boiler as well as any additional items you have on your cover plan. We do not cover anything outwith breakdowns or failures with the items. For example we do not cover, noisy boilers, noisy pipework or valves, radiators not being as hot as they used to be etc. Your boiler’s hot water or heating needs to be not working to call us out - the same applies to radiators.

11. Your ContractAll of our policies come with a minimum 12 month contract. If you cancel your policy before this 12 month contract, we reserve the right to charge you for the remainder of your payments.
