eBook Conversion Service
Swift Prosys is providing eBook Conversion service to an Indian publishing company for
more than 6 months. We deliver Mobipocket and E-PUB format to our client from any type of
book format like Paperback, Image PDF and Text PDF.
eBook Conversion Process
Swift Prosys has designed a single workflow system
were all the three book formats can be integrated to
produce a eBook formats like OeB, Mobipocket & EPUB.
Book Scanning
If the book is supplied as paperback and it
is the only copy available, then the book
will be scanned using overhead scanner.
If the book has multiple copies, then the
book will be unbounded and scanned using
the automatic document scanner.
eBook Conversion Process
Swift Prosys has designed a single workflow system
where all the three book format can be integrated to
produce a eBook formats like OeB, Mobipocket & EPUB.
The scanned images or Image PDF will
undergo Optical Character Recognition using
international commercial OCR Engines like
ABBYY Finereader or OmniPage. The OCR
text quality will be more than 99.5% accuracy.
RTF / Word
OCR
The output is saved in RTF / Word Format for
further proofreading.
The illustrations / figures are cropped from the
scanned images using Photoshop and save it
as JPEG with unique filenames.
eBook Conversion Process
Swift Prosys has designed a single workflow system
where all the three book format can be integrated to
produce a eBook formats like OeB, Mobipocket & EPUB.
ProofreadingExperienced operators will do 100% proofread
on the OCR text to correct the errors. A
spellchecking will be done at the end of the
process. This process make sure that the
content is 100% accurate. Simultaneously
simple word styles will be applied to text.
Styling
Complex styles like Nested lists, tables, notes
etc., will be done by styling experts.
The Word file is saved as .mth format.
Further .mth file will be converted to xHTML
file using the scripts.

Linking /Validation
The cropped images and chapters are linked
together and xHTML files are validated. This
will ensure the smooth transition of xHTML to
eBook format.
The files are converted to eBook format like
OeB, Mobipocket, EPUB or any other format
client required format.
The final destination eBook will be viewed for
correctness before delivering to the client.
