Clinical case
• SH, 50 yo RHD Maths teacher.• Dx of BIH from 1980s. Exsmoker and was on OCP.• Failed therapy!• Presented with worsening “high pressure” H/A, colour
disturbance, new central scotoma on the left, bilateral papilloedema.
• Admitted for ICP monitoring. • Underwent venous manometry.

Table of results
• Papers from 2002-2012• All case reports or case series (level IV
NHMRC).• A total of 161 patients. 52 patients came from
1 case series (Australian).• All stenoses occurred and were stented at the
transverse sinus.• All patients had pre- and post- Rx venogram
and manometry.

• 140/161 patients experienced clinical improvement (87%).
• 4 reported complications.
