“Crave”

In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

I used different camera angles for my magazine as I knew this would make it more attractive and interesting.

I used the simple rules of a magazine, such as masthead, bright colours and bold writing.

I tried really hard to make my front page as bright, colourful, bold, and interesting as I possibly could do.

How does your media product represent particular social

groups?I have not purposely made my magazine fit into a social group, as I

want as big and audience as I could get.

But I think it actually think that it would stand out to the punk/greb social group than any other.

What kind of media institution might distribute your media products and

why?

I personally would like my magazine to be distributed in

stores such as HMV and Zavvi. But as these stores are not always local, supermarkets, and post offices, spars, one

stops would be better. I would also like my magazine to

be available to be delivered, so it can be accessible to

anybody.

Who would be the audience for your media project?

I believe my magazine would be more appropriate for the younger generation. From

the age 15- 25.

I feel this is the appropriate age, because foul language will not be used, but some of the

pictures may be a little crude.

The magazine is aimed at male and females, as it is going to following up on all punkish music,

not just following one sex.

How did you attract/address your audience?

To attract the audience I used a catchy name and puff. “Crave, for a rave”

I also used good quality photos,

and bright colours.

Then I also added small bits of information which will allow the reader to want to know more

and buy the magazine.

What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this

product?Blog

I learnt how to create a blog, and how to use the different parts of it, such as uploading pictures and making actual blogs.

Editing picturesI learnt how to edit pictures by using paint and publishers drawing

techniques. I learnt how to place a part of a picture in front of another.

How to use publisherI learnt how to use this properly. I learnt how to use drawing

tools I never had before, and different ways it allows you to set up the page.

Being more creative on paint. I learnt how to edit around pictures so I could go onto

publisher and blank out the background.

How did you feel going from the preliminary to the final task?

I found the preliminary task quite hard at first as I

didn’t know what to put into it or how to do it.

But then as I understood it more I realised it was

not as hard as I had made it out to

be. So when I went from the

preliminary to the final product I found it

interesting and fun, rather than hard. I just

saw that I could experiment a lot more with the final product,

and I enjoyed doing it.
