Purpose of the ECALAS International Aerospace Seminar:

o Since the start of the first ECATA Course in 1992 all participants are joining the ECata ALumni Association, called ECALAS. In the meantime, the association can count more than 400 members and it is continuously growing.

o To foster the idea of a living and information exchanging network, ECALAS and its members decided, starting in 1996, to have at least one event per year to meet, discuss and learn from each other, as well as from high level speakers being invited, coming, mainly, from Aerospace Industry and University.

Background

Will we see the emergence of new ways of mobility? Which new promising technology will the next generation of aircrafts include? Will the next generation of aircrafts include electric or hybrid propulsion? How will we face the challenges to make autonomous flights happen? What would be the new services? How can we adapt and empower today’s systems to respond to our expectations and increased demands?

Beyond these questions, "Sustainability" always represents the key-word for long-lasting successful projects. Sustainability in A&D can be defined in different aspects:

• Technological sustainability related with Research and Product;

• Sustainability aspects related to Business Models;

• Sustainability aspects linked to Environment, Society and Safety;

• Sustainability aspects of the Project within complex organizations (internal, inter-divisional and external);

• Aspects of Economical & Financial Sustainability within global and changing contexts;

• Aspects inhering the risk of a lack of awareness about the Sustainability (Risk Management).

All these aforementioned aspects are closely interconnected; therefore, it is interesting to embrace both "vertical" and "transversal" points of view with the ultimate aim of highlighting existing links and complexity.

Seminar Travel Advice:

We recommend you to arrive the night before (9th October), as the seminar will start at 09:00 on the 10th October;

On days 10th and 11th a pick-up service has been arranged to transport delegates from the Hotels to the Seminar places

(Leonardo Plant, Dinner avenue) and return;

Delegates will need to make their own arrangements to and from the airport: on October 11th taxis can be arranged from

Leonardo Plant to the Airport upon request;

We suggest considering 45 minutes travel time from Leonardo Plant to Naples airport on Friday afternoon (October 11th);

Leonardo Plant has a car park for anyone using a rental car;

The nearest Airport is Naples International Airport;

On the suggested day of arrival (October 9th) we recommend taking a Taxi from the airport to the city center (fares

around 25/30 Euros);
