Eco-Friendly Mosquito Trap

Materials Checklist :

Eco-Friendly Mosquito Trap Instructables by Biji-biji Initiative

• 1 cup of water• 1/4 cup of brown sugar• 1 tsp of yeast• 1 used plastic bottle (2l)• Sauce pan and ladle• Black cloth or spray paint• Scissors.

• Take 1 cup of hot water and add ¼ cup of brown sugar to this.

• Mix well till the sugar dissolves.

• Allow it to cool.• Cut the plastic bottle as

shown and discard the cap.

• Pour the cooled mixture inside the bottom half of the bottle.

• Add 1 tsp of yeast to the mixture. This will help to generate Carbon dioxide which will attract the mosquitoes.• Invert the other part and place it like a funnel, taping them together if desired.

• Wrap the black cloth outside the plastic bottle.

• Leave the top uncovered, and place it outside. Mosquitoes are also drawn to the color black.

• The mosquitoes will be trapped

in the sugary mixture. Change the solution every 2 weeks for continuous control.
