Correlation Analysis
is a statistical technique used to determine the strength or degree of linear relationship between two variables. A measure of the degree of linear relationship is called correlation coefficient, r.
The value of r range from -1 to +1. The correlation coefficient, r is interpreted as follows:

Estimation of the Correlation Coefficient, ρ
Based on a Simple Random Sample (SRS) of size n, anestimator of ρ is the sample correlation coefficient, r, defined as
