Add your indicator ﴾teaching targets﴿ here:Students should know the vocabulary associated with ecology such as abiotic, biotic, food chain and web, population, community, ecosystem, and biosphere.  They should understand how ecosystems are impacted.

Add the lesson Big Idea, how does the standard fit into real world or relevant experiences here:How does energy move through an ecosystem? How do we impact ecosystems?

Lesson Notes:Learning Activities: Students will interact with the SMART board to identify important vocabulary words.  They will collaborate with one another at the determine abiotic and biotic factors that affect an ecosystem, the definitions of food chain and food web, and how they impact the ecosystem.

Assessment: Students should able to determine how energy moves through an ecosystem using the appropriate vocabulary and list ways in which they impact an ecosystem.
