Lately, in my country, there was such a big scandal regarding the milk poisoned with aflatoxin. After days
of production stop and enormous losses for local producers, the analysis results came out. Sixty-seven
of the 1,335 milk samples sent for analysis tested positive, meaning they had aflatoxin that exceeded
the level permitted in the European Union. That means approximately 5 per cent of the total number of
samples. They are talking about 34 samples that were taken from dairy farms, 5 samples taken from
milk collection centres, 8 samples from milk dispensers and 20 samples from processing units. All these
were isolated cases, the products did not make it on the shelf and today they are safe for consumption.
Questions:
Can these kind of situations impact in a definitely way the milk market?
What is the impact seen in the milk prices, after this situation?
This kind of situations can bring the bankrupt for some local producers?

This article, named Romanian traders and farmers exports of corn and wheat are up 18 percent y-o-yits making a brief analysis regarding the last year exports of corn and wheat. So, in 2012, one of the best
farming years over the past decade for Romania due to good weather conditions, the agriculture sector
generated an output of approximately EUR 18 billion (up 8.9 percent y-o-y) out of which crop output
generated EUR 12.8 billion ( up 12 percent y-o-y). In 2013 Romania should have a good, if not great,
agricultural year, according to the first official predictions, which is expected to translate into cereal
production of between 18 and 19 million tons.
Questions:
How the growing of Romania exports will affect the global price of the Cereals?

In February, the taxation threshold for micro-enterprises of Romania was lowered, meaning that small
firms with a turnover of up to EUR 65,000 were made subject to a 3 percent tax, while the employees
limit was dropped. In the past, these firms could either pay a 16 percent profit taxif they had a profit
or a 3 percent tax on turnover. The article is analyzing the effects of this measure for the micro-
enterprises and their employees. Also it predicts the impact on fiscal revenue.
Questions:
What impact will have these measures from the market perspective?
