Finance and Economics ProgramsWhy Study Economics?• Economics is a gateway to interesting careers.

– Business, Law, Finance and Banking, Consulting, and Public Service

• Our Graduates are very highly paid.– Economics is the most lucrative undergraduate degree

after medicine. • Our graduates are paid to get advanced degrees.

– Over 70% of our graduates in Honours Economics go to graduate school in Economics

– Scholarship and other financial support usually is from $12,000 to $30,000

Finance and Economics ProgramsOur students have met with significant success, and can be found in:• Government – Our graduates serve as economists with the Public Service

of Canada in the Ministry of Finance, the Bank of Canada, Treasury Board, Industry Canada, and the Competition Bureau. Others serve with as Public Servants in China, Greece, Britain and other countries.

• Consulting – Our graduates serve as economists with private consulting firms, advising clients on executive compensation, financial planning, and other areas.

• Law – Our graduates have gone to Law School, been called to the Bar and are now practising Law in a number of different fields.

• Senior Management – Our graduates have worked as managers and then attended Masters of Business Administration programs that have prepared them for careers in Investment Banking, Accounting and Tax Consulting and have moved on to positions as senior executives.

• Financial Services and Banking – Our graduates have proceeded into careers in retail banking, insurance, the financial services industry. Several have worked towards become Chartered Financial Analysts and manage pension funds and mutual funds.
