Evangelical Church Winning All is the result of a long history of ministry. In the late
1800’s, several missionaries traveled to Africa from Canada and the United States under
the auspices of the Sudan Interior Mission (SIM). Over me, missionaries from this organ‐
iza on planted many churches in the na on of Nigeria. In the middle of the 20 Century,
these churches became independent of SIM and formed their own denomina on, the
Evangelical Church of West Africa; now known as Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA).

at the ECWA Church in Ilorin and the Final Burial Ceremony in Edidi, Kwara State, Nigeria on February 15, 2014.
Last, but not least, we shall never forget the impact that Daddy’s life had on many persons, and how God had used him to establish and pastor various church‐es, along the way. In addi on, we shall always re‐member many of you whom he mentored and led to the saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. Cer‐tainly, he lived a humble life of service and sacrifice for others. One of his favorite passages in the Bible was “I can do all things through Christ who strength‐ens me” (Philippians 4:13).
To this end, please con nue to pray for all of the family members, church members, and spiritual sons and daughters who are le behind. Pray that we will be able to con nue to preach the word and impact the lives of others, just as he did.
We love and appreciate you all. Thank you once again for your concern, help and unparalleled sup‐port!
Love, from Comfort Adekeye

Support Update!
I am s ll in the process of raising
funds but God has been faithful in
providing and I trust and believe
that He will keep doing that un l I
reach my goal. This coming year
my monthly support goal is $2724
and my one me need is $12,032. I
have 63% of my monthly amount
funded and 21% of the one me
amount. I s ll need $1004 monthly
and a one‐ me amount of $9442
in order to be fully supported. Due
to a review of last year’s expenses,
my monthly support increased by
about 10%. I know that many of
you are suppor ng me monthly or
have given one‐ me gi s in the
past and I truly appreciate your
support. However, I kindly ask that
you pray about helping me meet
my new goal by increasing your
monthly or one me support.
Thank you once again for your
partnership in the kingdom minis‐
try and I look forward to talking
with you and hearing from you all!
I pray that you have a Merry
Christmas and a Happy New Year!
What’s happening in Ecuador?
If you remember, I was discipling
Miriam who is one of the student
leaders on the UG campus. Since
Miriam recently decided to work
with Cru in her country, she has
been praying that God will give
her boyfriend Xavier a heart for
ministry with Cru in their city. I
spoke with Miriam and this is
what she told me a er she had
spoken with Xavier. He told her
that he felt God calling him to
serve with Cru and she said, “I
started to cry not for him but I
cried because I knew that God
answered my prayers!!! HOW
GREAT IS OUR GOD!!!!
LifeinChicagoFor the past two months since I have been back, I have been sharing about Ecuador with sup‐porters and also in the process of raising funds for this coming year. I believe at this point that I have spoken with all my current monthly supporters and thankfully everyone has made the commitment to keep suppor ng me this coming year. Thank you for your commitment and partnership with Ecuador and what God is doing there. If at any point, something changes and you need to stop giving, increase giving, etc. please call
PrayerItems ‐Pray that our students will con nue to grow in their rela onship with God even in our absence. ‐ Pray for Miriam and Xavier that they con nue to listen to God and go where He is calling them. ‐Con nue to pray for me as I work on support that God will lead me to those He desires to use and that my rela onship with the Lord will be strengthened during this me. ‐Pray for the rest of my team as we all trust God to provide for us financially.

tried to maintain some control of what was happening ‐ but then he gave up. "Why should I try to contain such enthusiasm for God?!" he asks.
The challenges
However, challenges come with rapid church growth. There are very few trained pastors or mentors in Equatorial Guinea. The country is seriously lacking in Bible colleges and people equipped to develop church leaders. For every two pastors seeking theological training, one is turned away. And there's a need for Theological Educa on by Extension for people in villages who cannot relocate to the city.
I visited a crowded evening class at the only interdenomina onal Bible college. The hunger to study God's Word is astonishing. That night students gathered under a street light, tak‐ing advantage of some rare electric ligh ng in order to digest more of the Bible.
SIM has recently been asked to partner with WEC, an evangelical mission with a long history in the country. This new partnership opens the door to SIM missionaries for ser‐vice in Equatorial Guinea. We need people who can teach and disciple, working togeth‐er with WEC, local churches and the Bible college.
There are also opportuni es for mature Chris ans to work with the many young people, and the Church is eager to meet
other significant needs. Currently Equatorial Guinea ranks number 14 in the world for HIV prevalence and has one of the highest rates for Central and West Africa. Despite these figures, there are no known func oning HIV support groups. S gma za on is severe, and li le is being done to address the crisis at the grassroots level, either by the government or
the churches. Con nued on Page 8
Imagine entering the heart of Africa ... and hearing Spanish spoken. You're in a country like no other. You're in Equato‐rial Guinea. Here many people pride themselves on hun ng wild game in the tropical rain forest surrounding the towns and ci es. In fact, some find meats such as beef, chicken and pork to be almost inedible "city food." As one person said, "Who in their right mind would eat such terrible meat?" At the local market you can choose from a wide array of monkeys, deer, rodents and, most surprisingly, live crocodiles. Can you imagine coming home from the shop with a live, meter‐long crocodile for dinner, legs and mouth ed for your convenience? But consider an even "mea er" topic: God is moving in this small and rela vely isolat‐
ed country, and the Church is spreading like wildfire. Churches are filled to capaci‐ty, and new ones are springing up where young people, on their own ini a ve, are going out to communi es and sharing the gospel. They follow up with discipleship, and new churches are spontaneously forming. Ini ally, one local pastor

EMS of ECWA Sports Ministry By Rev Stephen Panya Baba
On Wednesday 30th April 2014, we had a visit from our SIM partners in Sports Ministry – Sportsfriends. The Sports‐friend delega on was led by Pastor Ishaya Inuwa, the Sporsfriends Nigerian Director. They have helped trained well over 700 EMS Missionaries in Sports Ministry and now we have an EMS Sports Ministry Coordinator in the person of Rev Emmanuel Ali. During the last Wednesday visit, they brought a dona on of 41 white balls and 16 blue balls. The blue balls are especially needed by EMS because of their ‘everlas ng’ nature. They are specially made in such a way that they don’t get burst or deflated. Seven of these wonderful blue balls were allocated immediately to our sev‐en rural Mission Field Schools, located in communi es that cannot be assessed at all except on foot or are cut off from any access during raining season. We are exploring the idea of developing Muslim Background Believers Discipleship Center, to take care of converts, including those converted through sports ministry. We hope to incorporate components of sports discipleship pro‐gramme in the proposed center and so we are working with Sportsfriends Nigeria for their invaluable inputs. This has become necessary because of converts from EMS Radio Ministry to the Core North who are facing persecu‐on and also converts through missionaries serving in the fields in the Core North. Recently some Muslim enquirers
in one EMS sta on which is doing sports ministry, asked for a place of refuge that when they accept Christ, they can run to in order to con nue discipleship using sports ministry model. If it becomes known that they are even consider‐ing conver ng to the Chris an faith, their lives will be at stake. They are up to three young people that through sports ministry have reached the point of making decision for Christ as Saviour and Lord in this sta on, with poten al for more there and in some other places. We also hope to facilitate SIM Sportsfriends training outreach beyond Nigeria through our various Churches in Togo, Cameroun, Gambia, Malawi, Chad and other new fron er missions fields we are opening up. Kindly con nue to give us the much needed prayer cover please.

Evangelical Church Winning All is the
result of a long history of ministry. In
the late 1800’s, several missionaries
traveled to Africa from Canada and
the United States under the auspices
of the Sudan Interior Mission (SIM).
Over me, missionaries from this
organiza on planted many churches
in the na on of Nigeria. In the middle
of the 20 Century, these churches
became independent of SIM and
formed their own denomina on, the
Evangelical Church of West Africa
(ECWA).
