t Tarrant County College, educators collaborate, innovate and inspire — all in the name of providing service

beyond expectations to students on paths of opportunity, to labor markets calling for skilled workers, to business and industry searching for greater expertise, and to communities hungering for education.

Since its founding in 1965, TCC has grown from a population of 4,440 students at its first campus to more than 100,000 students today. Most are at five campuses — South, Southeast, Northeast, Northwest, and Trinity River Campus in downtown Fort Worth. Students are also immersed in studies at Trinity River Campus East for Health Care Professions, two workforce development centers, numerous learning centers countywide, and online via TCC’s Distance Learning Program.

TCC serves a community that includes a wide range of people, from single moms to corporate executives. These people all count on TCC’s educators, graduates, and forward-thinking programs to empower lives with knowledge and critical thinking. With enrollment at record levels, TCC is the sixth-largest college or university in Texas, and approximately one in every 18 Tarrant County residents takes a class at TCC each year.

Focused on Student SuccessAlthough TCC is posting record enrollment numbers,

those numbers don’t mean much to the community if these students don’t go on to accomplish their educational goals. TCC is in the business of helping people get from Point A to Point B. For some, Point B is transferring to a four-year

college after completing their core curriculum at TCC. For others, it’s landing a job in a high-demand career field after completing a certification program. Many come to TCC to learn new skills in their present jobs. And some come just to enrich their lives by learning something new. Regardless of where you want to go in life, TCC can help you get there.

Developing the WorkforceIn this cooler economic climate it’s still possible to find a

job out there, but is it still possible to find your passion — your calling — your dream job? TCC offers many relevant programs that help people transition into meaningful, satisfying gainful employment right here in Tarrant County. Local businesses know and respect TCC’s methods and instructors, and they

often come to us looking for new graduates, or send their existing employees to us for further training. As a result, many of our degree and certificate programs have a 100% hire rate for students who complete them.

Is TCC Right for You?TCC’s mission is to provide affordable and open access

to quality teaching and learning. In order to fulfill that mission, we offer convenient locations, a variety of flexible class options, and tuition that is significantly lower than that of public and private four-year colleges and universities.

You may also benefit from smaller class sizes and dedicated instructors. The average class at TCC has fewer than 30 students, which means you’ll receive personal

attention from your instructor. Most TCC professors also have extensive practical experience in the subjects they teach.

TCC has a plan that fits your needs, whether you want to enroll in a certificate program in preparation for a specific profession or prepare to transfer to another institution. Many TCC students begin their undergraduate studies at TCC and finish at a four-year school. You can transfer your credits to any Texas four-year college or university, and to most private and out-of-state institutions.

Visit us at www.tccd.edu to learn more about TCC and how we can help you reach your goals.

Discover what we can accomplish together at the TCC & Me Community and High School Showcase.

TCC wants to help you succeed, so we’re opening up all five campuses on Saturday, April 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to give you an opportunity to get to know us and to see all the great programs and services we offer.

Visit a campus near you, or choose a campus with a program that interests you the most. Our Northeast Campus will feature its Dental Hygiene, EMS, and Radio and TV Broadcasting programs. Trinity River Campus will highlight Nursing, Respiratory Care, Sign Language, and Radiologic Technology. Visit Northwest Campus to learn about the Fire Academy, Aviation Maintenance, Police and more. Southeast Campus will highlight programs such as Culinary Arts, Dietetics, Restaurant and Hospitality Management, and CISCO certification. Or get an up-close look at Welding, CAD, Engineering/Electronics Technology, Automotive and more at South Campus.Visit www.tccd.edu/OpenHouse for more information.

Amberton University: Education for Working Adults

For over forty years, Amberton University has focused on the needs of working adults seeking higher education. Amberton is not for everyone. There are no athletics or social clubs. While these activities are important to the traditional student, Amberton is best suited to older, non-traditional students who are serious about pursuing a qual-ity education. The average age for the Amberton student is thirty-seven. Convenience is important to the adult student and in this regard Amberton on-site lecture classes are offered in Garland and Frisco during the evening hours and on Saturdays, as well as online class offerings for those students needing more fl exibility. On-site classes meet once a week during the four ten-week sessions. This allows Amberton students to balance family and career while attending college. Affordability and value are also important to the adult student. Amberton was recently rated a “best buy” by the consumer guide GetEducated.com. Tuition is a very reasonable $242 per credit hour, among the lowest in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. The affordability of Amber-ton classes allows the majority of Amberton students to graduate debt free. Amberton is fully accredited and classes are taught by a prestigious list of professors, all professionals in their fi eld. The University offers a variety of undergraduate programs in the areas of Business, Management, and Project Management. Graduate degrees include MBAs in Business, Management, Strategic Leadership and Project Management as well as programs in Human Resource Training & Development and Human Relations & Business. Amberton has one of the largest Counseling programs in the area with Master’s degrees in Professional, School and Christian Counseling. When you arrive at the point in your career where increasing your education is essential to advancement, look to Amberton University. Call 972/279-6511; visit www.Amberton.edu; and/or email [email protected] for more information. Apply now. The Summer Session begins Saturday, June 8, 2013.
