There was a great turn out. Children, Youth and Family Department did a wonderful job setting it up. I am also proud of the CASA staff and their participation in setting it up. I was honored to be among Judge Shuler Gray, Mayor Janway, Sheriff Cage, and Staci Compton who addressed the audience. Several classes from Craft elementary joined in on the walk. The Guardians of Children helped the Carlsbad Police Department escort all of us from the CYFD parking lot to the District Court House and back. District Attorney Dianna Luce, GAL Denise Madrid-Boyea, District Attorneys Victim Advocates, and many of the members of our community joined in on the walk. We still have some of the Walk Against Child Abuse T- shirts at the Carlsbad CASA office that volunteers ordered. Please contact Amy to make arrangements to pick yours up. We are still working on our CASA volunteer group that has been set up on FACEBOOK. Amy and Elisabet are working very hard to contact all the volunteers with FACEBOOK accounts and help them get set up in the group. The process is simple. All you have to do is go like the Eddy County CASA page and we then can add you to the group. We will be having a test run this week to get everyone used to using it. It will be like a meet and greet for about thirty minutes. Volunteers can join in at that time or any time after the recording and watch it. Then we are going to set up a 30-minute training on Reports and Numberson Friday, May 3, 2019. Volunteers will be able to watch the live feed or watch the video at a later time and get credit for participating. The CASA office continues to look for ways to improve communication between volunteers and staff. Please, if your address, phone number, or email has changed let us know. Remember we are here to help in every way. We are all in this together and will continue to support and care for our children in every way we can. Thank each one of you for giving of yourselves to help improve the life of our most vulnerable and being a critical component to their future. For Our Kids!!!! Thank you, Lori Hill

Thank you to those CASA Volunteers that walked with us for the 7th Annual Walk Against Child Abuse. District Attorney Dianna Luce, GAL Denise Madrid-Boyea, District Attorney’s Victim Advocates, and many of the members of our community joined in on the walk. We still have some of the Walk Against Child Abuse T-shirts at the Carlsbad CASA office that volunteers ordered. Please contact Amy to make arrangements to pick yours up.

We are still working on our CASA volunteer group that has been set up on FACEBOOK. It will be like a meet and greet for about thirty minutes. Volunteers can join in at that time or any time after the recording and watch it. Then we are going to set up a 30-minute training on “Reports and Numbers” on Friday, May 3, 2019. Volunteers will be able to watch the live feed or watch the video at a later time and get credit for participating.

The CASA office continues to look for ways to improve communication between volunteers and staff. Please, if your address, phone number, or email has changed let us know.
